Air starvation is what I was indicating from your description of starts easier with the air filter off allowing adequate air to fuel mixture. As JL has advised dirty or loaded filter medium will cause this extreme condition. However as JL has requested (orientation) if the hose connects to the venturi area of the carb it will have a direct effect on air entrainment into the fuel air mixture. As we have stated previously , not having you engine at arms length make diagnosis rather difficult (hit & miss) . A torn or cracked or loose impulse line is something any technician inspects and replaces as a matter of fact. This from a former diesel mechanic who has chased numerous vacuum / return to tank fuel line issues causing air entrainment hard or no start diesel applications . Anyhow for what ever reason glad you have solved your hard starting dilemma :)

Fuel Line Obstruction Solution: Check whether the pipeline is smooth or not. 9. Fuel Injector Problem – Little fuel injection or fuel injection is not atomized Solution: Remove the fuel injector, connect it to the high pressure oil pump, pry the fuel injection pump plunger spring and observe the spray condition. If necessary, wash the injection pump. 10. Valve leakage Solution: Check the valve clearance, valve spring, as well as the sealing of the valve guide and seat. Bought gr2110 last week , already have 6+hr, found a loose transmission bolt, had to level deck, seat is 2.5 in lower, high back seat, spring loaded seat adjustable for weight, zg23-54 style deck ,awd working well, I have hilly terain and before walk behind safest, husky zero turn or lawn tractor could not handle -sliding and traction problems ....but GR2110 is nice puts smile on your face. feels stable think lower seat a plus

Hey Tech, Got a bee in your bonnet? Sorry if we offend you... Out in the country, we've always recycled. Didn't get into 'organized' recycling until I lived in a city. Call me ignorant, but for most of my life I have either been in school or in such a high stress job (meaning working 60 to 70 hours a week) that while I thought of our environment, I did so rather casually - that's all the time I had to spare for it. What does frustrate me is that super conglomerates dictate our lives by being convenient. Easier to go buy gas than to think of what car/truck manufacturers did 75 to 80 years ago to insure that we'd buy those babies...and the oil/gas companies around that shored them up. My father made his living growing an evil weed...tobacco... And it was the only thing he could grow that would bring enough money to keep his family clothed, housed, fed and educated. It breaks my heart to think of him, and my neighbors. They could be growing food...but, we expect grocery prices to be soooo cheap. No way to earn a living producing food. I would very much like some geniuses to devise equipment that could use corn or soybeans to fuel not only cars/trucks, but also to run heating systems and the like. It would help our enviroment in more than one way. Maybe talking about it here will encourage a few more people to think of it. And, as far as I'm concerned, a penny earned can be a penny saved, so to speak, with regard to our environment...and our pocketbooks...and with saving farmland.
