Harbor Freight Greenhouses on sale

I just received my Harbor Freight mailer today 3-27-09. The greenhouses are on sale, if anyone is interested.

6X8 1 vent $349.00 regular $379.99 10X12 4 vents $649.99 regular $799.99 and Solar powered exhaust fan $149.99 Still says UV-coated polycarbonate panels and sliding door for easy access. This is a lot more than I paid 3 years ago. You can possibly find a coupon on the internet for 10-20% off. The Harbor Freight Store in my area stocked them when I bought mine so I did not have to order. I typed in Harbour Freight coupon when I bought mine and it came up. I hope this helps, if anyone is looking.

Just a quick note under WOW Coupons, I typed in Harbor Freight Coupons and this was one of the selections. There is a 20% off coupon on anything from Harbor Freight through May 30,2009. I don't know if it is any good; but, this is how I got my coupon. I printed it out and took it too the store. The manager even asked where I got it and I said on-line. They didn't blink an eye and gave me the discount.

My 10x20 canopy is larger than either one of those and is TOO small already. Of course, it is covered with plastic instead of poly. I really can't decide HOW BIG I need to go. Someone told me years ago, buy the BIGGEST one you can afford, and it will be too small also.

This greenhouse was bought 2.5 years ago. I am a construction guy and put it up reinforced with 2x4 on the inside and extra screws in every panel. I did that because everyone was having a problem keeping them up. Well the wind never blew the building down but the doors came off the hinges with every storm...even after trying to secure it closed. The big problem was that after 2.5 years, all of the roof panels begin to crumble...and with a little wind they would crack and bust, then fly off. I called harbor freight and they said they could sale me panels for 41 dollars a piece. That times 12 is almost 500 dollars....I bought the green house on sale for 600. The panels will only last another couple of years and then it will be the same thing all over again. Please, please, don't waste your time with this. If I knew this about the roof I would have never bought it.

I bought my hfgh from Harbor Freight and shipping was free ( on sale $299.00), so I would take that in to consideration. Another thought,If there is a piece missing or damaged who do you call? Just my spin on things.....

Which greenhouse is it? The one that is listed for $329? The 8' x 6' one? Looks like the one that would work for me. Just starting out in the Greenhouse biz an this looks to be a good size to start out with. Being in Zone 5 it can get well below zero for awhile. Would this be feasible to heat in the Winter or would this be used mainly for getting a jump start in Spring. Learned alot on this Forum and the helpful links in the posts. Paws

Hi Jerry- My hubby and I just erected one of these HFGHs. We used the manual plus these instructions- http://hfgh10x12.blogspot.com/2007/08/this-is-greenhouse-we-bought-link-it.html. It went up without much incident. We had a pretty bad storm with winds of 30- 40 mph and it was fine. We will be installing those self tapping screws and rubber gaskets on the poly carbonate panels soon. I just love my gh! It was on sale when we bought it, and then we also found an online coupon, so we ended up paying $650 each. We bought 2 of them and hope to start the 2nd one soon. kasha77
