Heucherella "Sweet Tea" combinations

When I saw how beautifully "Sweet Tea" came through a hard winter on the sale rack at a nursery I bought some. Now, I'm having a hard time placing them in the garden.
Tell me where you've use it and your favorite combos with other perennials and shrubs.

Can't seem to find a picture of it, but I liked my 'Sweet Tea' paired with Corydalis 'Chocolate Stars'. The orange-y color of the X Heucherella brought out the bronzy tones in the foliage of the Corydalis.

It looks good with Purple too. I like mine with Woodland Phlox.

You will love Golden Zebra. I have a two year old, and I think it will get some siblings this year if I can find them. My other favorites among my heucheras are Caramel (fast growing, distinctive summer color), Can Can (super frilly edges with a contrasting underside) and Georgia Peach (awesome summer color and better heat tolerance). I have great hopes for my Midnight Bayou. It wasn't tend to very well after I planted it last June, so hopefully it will forgive me this year. Beautiful dark, even, merlot-red with almost black veining. I'm not overly fond of a few varieties in my collection-- Beaujolais (color is nothing like the photos in catalogues), Midnight Rose (s-l-o-w, yet very thirsty) and Hercules (committed suicide twice). Dale's Strain may also need to find new home.

Thanks much! -Molie, I think that is 'Marmalade' Heuchera behind the Tiarella- it's the longest lived one I've tried, along with Palace Purple. I planted the tulips/muscari/iris combo because I love blues, whites, and yellows together. Had no idea the base of the tulip would match the iris so well though! -Ech, I lost the tag to those Iris years ago, but I'm fairly sure they are I. pallida 'Variegata'. I'm not sure about the difference between the white vs. yellow variegation either. Half the pics online of the variegated pallida show more white-ish while the others are more yellow. I seem to recall mine start out more yellow and then turn creamy toward summer. -fun, I LOVE that lavender/golden conifer combo. I'm a bit envious that you can grow Spanish lavender perennially. It is so much more attractive than the L. angustifolia types imo... CMK

how old is your "All Gold" Japanese Forest Grass? Do you do anything special to overwinter it? It looks so beautiful and healthy on you picture You are kind green_go. I think it is 3 seasons old. It is in too much shade to grow to its potential but its good enough for me at this location. But about 30 feet away is the same variety, same age and it is so much larger. Here it is as of this past July. It has grown so vigorously. (And notice the one further down and it is scrawny...again too shady). The first one is Silver Scrolls, I love the way it flowers #2 is unknown, it was a seedling growing in my path I saved. #3 is new CrÃ¨me Brule. #4 Amber Waves from last year, all the leaves are the same yellow green so far. #5 IÂve got the tag somewhere. # 6 Heucherella Foamy Bells this is also from last year, it seems to like where it is, mostly shady. I have another that just barely holds on, i need to find a better spot for it #7 is Cathedral Windows. Big plant, not much of a bloom, I usually cut the flower spikes off. #8 is Stormy Seas is next to #9 Autumn Bride I got both of them last year. I amazed at how big Autumn Bride got it supposed to bloom late summer. #10 new this year Peach Melba, tiny leaves so far. The last one also unknown has been there the longest, in deep shade. Yep, mine's in with the purples and blues - campanula,phlox paniculata, clematis Rooiguchi, rose Eyes for You, polemonium Lambrooke Mauve. I also have it with geums, libertia and it flirts with glaucous poppies with terracotta flowers (P.rupifragum) and a couple of the smaller tulips - the little lady tulip, T.chrysantha and the late flowering T.sprengeri (this is not a combo for the fainthearted)

It's really lovely with Dryopteris 'Brilliance' and Heuchera 'Obsidian'. Brings out the orange in the fern.
It's also very pretty with blue hosta.

Your ideas for blues reminded me I have three colbalt blue pots of different sizes. I fell asleep thinking about them filled with "Sweet Tea" . Maybe edged with black Mondo Grass.
What could I use for height?
One reason for my failure of imagination is that it is still "mid-early" spring here in E. MA and there really isn't anything flowering but bulbs.and emerging foliage. Placed on the still mostly bare ground the foliage is blinding.
I have about 8 h."Caramel" which also came through the winter beautifully. But there's enough browns and softer tints that they are easier on the eye.
