Adding perennials to existing shrubs - what kind of design?

Hello, I posted the following question on another forum but didn't receive any replies, so I'm hoping I may find some advice here. I appreciate any advice you may have!

I'd like to add perennials to the area next to our patio, which currently is home to: Two burning bushes are on either side of the window well, followed by a row of 3 Golden Privets, and then the junipers in front. There are also 3 boxwoods around the Norway Maple.

I would love to fill this area with hostas, ferns, grasses, and a few flowers. I like texture more than lots of different color. I can't picture how to place everything - can you offer some insight on how to arrange the area? Should some or all of the shrubs be moved? How would you plant the space?

This area faces north and gets partial sun in the late afternoon. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have for me - I truly appreciate it!
