Thermometer for gh--need your help

This is my first gh so know very little about it. I did a search and found some of you have the La Crosse ws 9029. I can't find that one in my area but have found the ws9625 and the ws9630. Which one of these would be best in your opinion? Or neither.

I would like to know current temp and what the low or high was. Also the humidity. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

A good weather station is Honeywell TE532W-EL-NL. I've had mine for several years and have the extra monitors for extra greenhouses.

I recently bought an Ambient Weather WS-0100-COMBO-KIT from Amazon. I bought this brand because we had a larger kit with the wind gage and all for years. Most of the kit is gone but one sensor and a nice big display lives on. I liked the brand so when I wanted more sensors I bought a kit of the same brand with three sensors. We have a shop, sunroom and I have a light table in the garage. When it gets cold I can monitor everything from the house. My real advice is to go to Amazon to shop. You may find a wider selection and get free shipping.

I live in NW Tenn & repotted my ferns about a month ago. Didn't have enough pots for them all so I stuck a couple of leftovers in the ground in my compost pile. It's rained & snowed since then, and they actually look better than the ones I repotted & put back in the greenhouse. They can tolerate cold really well. I've put out about half my potted ones & they are fine. Can't help you with the other stuff. Still have mine along with seedlings & cuttings in the greenhouse. It's been pretty cold here this week. The impatiens are going out soon. Gotta get them repotted. Kim

We have one of those that shows up on the bedroom ceiling when dark that I love! I put the outside thingy on the siding, under a porch roof facing north. It is very accurate. If it is on a side that gets sun during the day, I am sure all the siding, especially stone or brick, would transfer the heat up to the siding where the sun wasn't actually hitting. Does that make sense. I have a simpler one in the kitchen and the outside sensor gets some morning sun now the sun is on the southern horizon so I need to move it. It doesn't take long for the sun to move past it, but it bugs me anyway.

Last time I looked, the thermometer they were using was the Thermapen Instant Read, available from the Baker's Catalog (King Arthur flour). It was their top-rated, but comes with a $79.00 price-tag! I got it for my DH two years ago, and it really is a wonderful tool--very accurate, thin probe so you can even use it to check chicken breasts. I also use it to check the temperature of ingredients, etc. One caveat--be very careful when washing--we got a bit sloppy, got some water inside, and the circuit board went. The company that manufactures the thermometer very cheerfully gave us a new thermometer for less than the cost of replacing the circuit board (it had been out a warranty over a year...) Now we carefully wipe it down with a slightly damp cloth. I've included a link to our source, but the link into this particular thermometer seems to be broken.... I use a Davis Weather Station that is battery powered and solar charged. For me in S. California with lots of sunshine, this works very well for me. It will transmit information to my computer, and I also have it hooked up to my wireless router to transmit data to the web. I found a cheap therometer at WalMart that has minimum/maximum for temperatures and humidity. I think it was less than $15. Not professional, but it works for me.

I saw the same one (I think) at WM #9630 for $19.00. But then I went to TSC and found #9625 marked down from $39.99 to $9.99. I'm thinking of going with the #9625.

If it had everything you wanted, I'd buy it. I have 2, 1 has humidity and the other one didn't. Both have minimum/maximum, 1 is easily cleared, and the other one I have to remove the battery and put it back to clear it. The humidity one is the one that is harder to clear.

I don't spend alot of money, but I realize that I might have to replace it more often. I'm still in the beginning stages of this marketing venture still after 10 years
