add-on garden although small would have rare full sun
Comments (22)I agree with the idea of making a swath of grass/path following your existing shapes, and gardening the rest of the space. I also agree with a brick or stone edging. Both those things worked very well for me. I don't have a sidewalk on the outer edge; my constraint is a deep ditch, which forms the outer limit of the garden space. I like the relatively straight line it makes as the edge. You don't have to do it all at once - start with Yard Advisor's corner bed. Get that set up and planted and keep thinking about the rest. Over the following year - or two or three..., you can gradually extend the corner bed towards the house bed, and along the sidewalk. If you do it gradually, it won't feel like such a big change/lot of work but rather like a natural evolution for the space. That's the way I did mine. Initially, I created a big bed in front and a narrow one along the driveway. A couple of years later, a small one was added behind the driveway border where the driveway curves plus another small bed was added in the N&E corner of the property. After a couple of years it was clear that all of those needed to be made more coherent and connected. So I measured a consistent distance from the edge of the main, large bed to eastablish the ribbon of grassy path that ties it all together. The ditch limited the outer ('moat') bed to a very narrow shape but the brick edge gives it more definition and it all works quite well I think. I think something similar would work well for you as shown in Yard Advisors drawing. Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreFireFox - How to keep a backup of the Scrapbook add-on?
Comments (4)Bookmarks and Scrapbook are different. I can back up Bookmarks easily following the path I gave in my first post. There is a file for Bookmarks inside the next stop after Profiles, which is v20fqq3t.default. I forgot to mention that last one. There is also a folder for Scrapbook inside v20fqq3t.default, but that folder contains a number of files, including "Backup" and several RDF files that appear to be individual backups but are just a meaningless list of figures when I click them, as well as a folder for "Data." "Backup" itself is also full of lines like the following: RDF:Description RDF:about="urn:scrapbook:item20060912103442" NS8:id="20060912103442" NS8:type="" NS8:title="Scappy String Quilt Instructions" NS8:chars="UTF-8" NS8:comment="" NS8:icon="" NS8:source="http://home.pmt.org/~awalter/string.html"/ So I don't see how saving Backup would give me something to use in the event of a crash. Groan. Come to think of it, Roxio appears to insist on individual files rather than folders when I want to burn a disk, so maybe I'll have to export everything to the desktop and then laboriously transfer it to Roxio as a "project" and burn that. What gets me is that previously--maybe a long time ago--there was just one folder that I could transfer to a zip disk and from it open up FF again with all the scrapbook entries. Somewhere along the line that changed. I do find Scrapbook very useful because any Web page saved there is always there, along with its clickable links, even if the original page has been taken down....See MoreCleaning cost help for add ons
Comments (2)You would think right? But no that was not requested. They do some sort of house bombing work and are basically using us to do the "heavy lifting." I just have no idea about the walls. From what I've read, a 2,000 SQFT house can take 1-2 days and run $300-$400, just for walls....See MoreI would love to figure out how to add a big porch but the entry
Comments (0)I just purchased this home, The driveway is 45 ft long and originally I wanted to add on to the garage and bring everything forward, in order to utilize the unused space, but I would b blocking the windows. The entry sits so far back and looks awkward to me. It’s a split foyer so I’m not sure that I could even bring the entry to sit even with the house but I would love to add a nice porch as well. I need help with ideas....See Moreralleia
