Is this spot too shady for Salvia?

User

I have a spot in a rose and perennial bed. I was growing columbine there but I think it died out last summer.

When we first moved to this house, I put Dicentra, bleeding heart, in the spot. You know how they say to wait a full year before planting anything? Well, I thought it was a shady spot but it was not. I moved the Dicentra before they died completely. The spot is partly shady EARLY and LATE in the season, say April and August. But in full summer, it is full, full sun.

Would salvia make it in such a spot? If that is too much shade, I will put some columbine back there.
