We bought heavier duty glazing clips from Charlies Greenhouse (www.charliesgreenhouse.com if I remember right). We've had a couple of wind storms since then with no loss of panels.

I'm not much help - my whole greenhouse, with the exception of the east exposure, has been wrapped in a solar pool cover since November. No problems before that, though.

I edged the wall panels with foam weatherstripping tape, which did increase the tension on the clips somewhat ... though I thought they were pretty good to start with.

As I recall, there are a few who used an adhesive caulk on their panels. I can't recall who, so hopefully they'll check in soon. Did you try a search yet?

I was going to buy a HFGH now I don't know if I should get one or buy a RION instead. Hope more people with them reply with their experience with the HFGH

I also used the clips and weatherstripping tape as I wanted to be able to remove panels without damaging them if need be. I did puchase more clips from charleys and also used some 'self threading' screws. One on the bottom and the top of each panel. I considered the use of caulk but rejected it because of fear it might damage the panels in some way. also some bubble wrap on the back of the panels applied before installation might give you a tighter seal as well. HFGH's are a good product and I can't wait till Cindy (Vamptoo) get's her new one......hehehe.

I've had no problems whatsoever with panels blowing off. I used the clips provided and some silicone caulk around the bottom and they seem to be firmly in place. We don't get a lot of high wind here in Houston though, and it's in a pretty protected area.

You must get some real high winds for them to blow off like that?

No, the thing is the winds haven't been that high. I do dread when the spring storm/tornado season comes around though if I'm having problems like this already.

I used Charlie's Greenhouse clips too. They worked very well. To be extra safe, I ran a 1" strip of aluminum along the length of the greenhouse inside on each side of the walls and roof. I then screwed each panel into the aluminum piece. It didn't take very long and gives me a lot of confidence that my panels will never blow off.

Skedwards - I took a look back in my log - before installing the solar pool cover we had some windy weather, including gusts to 40mph and I had no trouble with the panels. Forgive me, but have to ask: Are you sure the panels and especially the clips are installed correctly? Do you currently have a shade cover in place? I'm wondering if that might help a little, however it sounds as though you may want to try those self-threading screws by the time the spring stormy season rolls around.

I think this is probably going to be my Valentines present. Yeah, I know, most girls want diamonds and flowers for Valentines. Not me, I can grow my own flowers and will have much more fun in a greenhouse than with another diamond.

The only times I have had this problem involved panels blowing out, never in which may be obvious. I used wood clamps (spring loaded) to hold my door shut and window closed tightly and have not had the problem since.

I have had my HFGH for just over a year, I live within 2 miles of the beach with the winds that come with tropical storms and near misses with hurricanes I have not lost a panel yet. I do have a wood privacy fence so maybe that gives some protection. I love my HFGH and can not say anyting negative about it.
