Velvety fruit, pretty blossoms and interesting bark make apricot trees a delight — and they’re great for smaller gardens
Full StoryWorking on a severe root-knot nematode problem in a local z9 garden with 'sandy clay' soil, growing a variety of veggies (including sweet potatoes) that exhbit extensive damage.
Clemson.edu (http://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheets/HGIC2216.htm) notes the product called Clandosan.
Have already obtained Clandosan product info, so asking:
1) if any folks on this forum have ever used Clandosn, and how long did it take before results were evident;
2) do any of y'all have experience with composting crushed/pulverized shrimp and/or crab shells (raw material that stimulates chitin-decomposing fungi/actinomycetes which 'eat' nematodes), and if so, how long is such material still identifiable in your piles?
3) what other organic products have successfully reduced root-knot nematodes for you, how was it applied and how long did it take?
Thanks, Robert
