Looking to build coldframe - questions

I'm looking to add a few coldframes to my raised bed garden.

I know that I could use clear plastic (either UV or not) on top of the frame lids, but I'd like to use a rigid material - polycarb or something.

I don't however, have an economical source for polycarb panels - the few quick quotes I found on the internet run +/- $200 per panel.

I would like the coldframes to be able to be broken down in the summer, and I have a few design ideas and a father-in-law with every tool in the known world and the ability to use them (and perhaps the desire to help ).

Does anyone have any sources for polycarb panels or the like at reasonable prices? If not, any commerically available alternatives? I'm not going to use glass and I'm not spending time trying to find old doors and the like.

Thanks a lot and Happy New Year everyone.

Andrew
