My Christmas Rose/Lenten Rose Hellebore is blooming up a storm.

Crazy thing. It's not done THAT before, because since I've had it, we've not had a winter like this. The last time I remember a winter this mild was the winter of 1998, which was the year that all of the tuberous begonias I failed to dig that fall actually overwintered in the ground and came back the next spring, which in Michigan was a miracle.

I've covered it with a heavy cardboard box on the coldest nights. It's got a couple of dozen blooms on it now. Started in November, and its been confused and blooming ever since.

Crazy, crazy, crazy.

Also, I see a number of insect species flying about some days, various flies and gnat-like things.
