Using coffee to stain bricks

We have a shed in the backyard sitting on a layer of bricks and pavers left over from two previous jobs. We wanted to use materials on-hand instead of purchasing new materials and then having to store the older leftovers.

The bricks and pavers are similar in color but do not match -- the bricks are a salmon-pinky-red, while the pavers are more coral-pink.

I am wondering if it would be possible to stain all of them with coffee to create a more uniform color. I would like to experiment with 1 of each brick/paver and wondering which of the following methods would work best:

* Pour brewed coffee directly over them and allow to dry; repeat if necessary

* Brush or rub brewed coffee, allow to dry; repeat if necessary

* Rub or brush used coffee grounds, rubbing them in, then rinsing off the grounds; repeat if necessary

Has anyone tried this? I don't want to waste a lot of different stones trying different techniques.
