Nooooes - Poet's narcissi out now!

User

Can't cope with this weird spring. Confused. My poet's narcissi, usually the last of all narcissi are opening 2 months early. Tulips too. Am I going to have a great gap in May and what if the weather does not return to our usual damp and chilly spring? So, people in warm climates such as Cali and Florida, what happens next? Roses in April, Dahlias in May, right? What about delphs, campanulas? Do you have to keep removing stuff which has gone over and adding new stuff like old fashioned bedding out? Or, does having a long growing season require skillful timing and selection. We usually have spring growth (Mar/April), then another peak in May/June, then a sort of rest until August/September. What happens to you in September if your late summer stuff has already been and gone. Obviously, there will be plants already adapted to your climate But, being so woefully ignorant, do point me in the direction of long season gardening.
