Buzzing about Spring? Nah. Never mind that my trees are a full month ahead of schedule. People are buzzing about an overnight low that broke the previous record high. People are buzzing about Memorial Day water temps on St. Patrick's Day. Thanks to AGW it appears we're playing with loaded dice. Interesting times indeed. Spring bloomers are pretty an all, but I'd just prefer it if the climate that has sustained homo sapiens for all this time didn't change in my lifetime.

When does everyone start fall tomato seeds? I'm going to sow some peppers, eggplants and basil, plus a few flowers. Just wondering if I should do the tomatoes or wait on them? Had a salad yesterday with lettuce, radishes, jalepenos and fresh dill, all from the garden I think the lettuce is nearly done but still not bitter or bolting! Maybe from the cooler nights and partial shade? My Japenese eggplant has over twenty fruits, some almost ready to pick. The bigger eggplant (don't know the variety) has lots of tiny fruits but they take longer to mature. TomToes planted in Feb are loaded down with fruit Marglobe and purple Russian) but the ones that were planted late are just now blossoming. Hopefully, they'll have time to set before we get hit by heat. Basil is the best I've ever grown. Chard is a monster, can't figure out what to do with it all. I'm planting okra, melons, watermelon, kabocha squash, and a zucchini this weekend. Will move my red ripper peas from their not so good spot to the new garden and build a trellis next week. Is it too late do you think, for a few Christmas Limas? Most of mine were eaten by pill worms.

Hi, You will see there is another posting here asking where to get these patterns. Try there as I got my pattern from Fiddly Cat which was the originator of all these if I am not mistaken. Basically they are made with 2- l5" strips of muslin by 3 " wide.Sew these into a tube leaving one end open and stuff lightly or you will have trouble rolling up.Sew up the open end. Gently roll up the stuffed tube into a bun shape, secure with a few stitches. Then push up the bottom in the centre to look like a cinnabun after its been cooked in the oven.Then you stain your bun with i.e. tea or coffee, vanilla and cinnamon . I use a sponge brush to brush all over.Place in low oven on towel on baking sheet.Watch carefully so it does not burn appprox 15 mins or so(keep checking) After it cools you put on the icing. You have your choice of surebonder fabric stix or Joanne's carries white fabric glue sticks . The first comes out white from the g gun and the second comes out clear and then dries white. One is shiny one is not. In any event, you drizzle the icing all over the bun letting it drip down the sides including the stitiches holding it together.I also added some cinnabun fragrance oil to the bottom of the bun and in between the rolls. Mine from last year still smells like fresh baked. Very easy to do and ever more realistic. I will try to post a link for you to see a picture.Irene p.s. I dusted the tops with a little cinnamon

Ok, don't fall off of your chairs, but I got 2 things posted on the gallery and one more on the way as soon as I can get one thing fixed and get the picture downloaded. You know that thing where we don't see certain things until we look at the pics. Yep, happened again. The one guy I posted is missing his mouth of all things....don't ask how I missed that. I know it comes from getting interrupted so many times while I'm painting. Then I started to post another one and I saw that he was missing the star off of his coat so I decided I'd go ahead and fix him and then post him.
