Chicken litter

I recently picked up about 2 cu feet of chicken litter (straw and compost soaked in chicken waste, damp but not wet to the touch) via freecycle

My question is whether I should bag it up and let it rot on its own, or add it to my compost bin. The bin is plastic, about 220 litres (8 cu ft?) and generally used for cool composting of kitchen and garden waste.

Many thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Charles
