I don't know how hardy it is in your zone, but Double Delight ranks very high on my list! Fragrant Cloud is another favorite, but I realize it has a flower color you will probably either love or hate. Few are agnostic about Fragrant Cloud. (I also don't know if Fragrant Cloud would be hardy for you.)

Not sure who's growing her anymore. I got cuttings from a guy yrs ago, and got one to root. She's verrrry slow on her own roots and the blooms blow pretty fast. She can get some peachy tones or be more pink And as you can see, the thrips seem to love her!

It's a great plant, nice structure & leaves, healthy & vigorous for me that isn't a water hog once established. I don't like the color. It's a dull flat rosy red, almost gray magenta... don't recall the flower shape or fragrance, so it must be passable. I really liked Cesar Chavez, O.L. Weeks & Loving Memory this year. Variable fragrance for those three depending on conditions.

Hi Summersrhythm — The only photo I have of the New Dawn when it was getting big is this one taken 2 years ago, before it reached the top of the house. The house won't win a beauty contest, but New Dawn helped it a lot. It only received 4-5 hours of sunlight a day, and wasn't as luxuriant in leaves and blossoms as some I've seen, but it seemed to grow well and had no problems the first 8 winters. In the foreground is Buff Beauty. Now both are starting from the ground, the house is bare. One thing about roses, they will renew themselves if given half a chance.
