Have you moved your balcony inside for winter?
Comments (5)Oh wow. That makes it even more of a puzzle for you to solve. Is there anything one can do to make a microclimate on a balcony? Probably not without getting kind of ridiculous... I really don't know. Maybe your hubby would feel better about your place if you show him my pic! Ha! I don't mind being "the bad example" of someone who has no self-control over these things. I counted 98 pots in here yesterday, NOT counting the tons of water bottle cuttings in the sills. It's probably a really good thing I don't order plants in the mail and there are very few places to buy them around here without driving really far away. I have an illness where anything I want to buy will fit in the house in my mind... Sounds like you're having a peaceful plant break though. Nothing wrong with that at all, and more time to chat. Smiles! And speaking of balconies, we're going to NOLA for Easter again. Can't wait to see all of those cool balconies, although Easter is really early this year, a lot might still be kind of naked, less plants, dormant plants... We'll see what there is to see......See MoreLosing water from pond
Comments (6)Thanks for the feedback, folks. I think what I'll do is run a small line from my irrigation line to the pond , and just have it trickle at a steady rate into the pond. I'll regulate it for a few days and make sure it isn't underfilling or overfilling. As far as that goes, as long as it wasn't too unsightly, it might be a good idea to get a float system that turns on the filler hose automatically when the water level gets too low. Has anyone heard of that type of system being used in a pond?...See MoreHave you sold because of a 'Neighbor from Hell'?
Comments (81)@ Rita Council - So sorry you are dealing with this so soon after moving in. With regard to the pet training service - in addition to the noise your board has to also enforce other rules regarding running a business and maintaining insurance. They also have to protect the association from incidents that could occur on common grounds. I worked in the humane industry and as much as I love animals, I am very aware of the risk that any business that deals with animals holds. When I ran a mobile pet vaccination service at pet stores I needed to carry $1 million/$3 million coverage for myself, my business, my employees, my independent contractors (vets), the pet stores where we conducted business and the property owners where the pets stores were located. We also needed to get riders or event insurance if we held a clinic at a community event. What are the rules for your community for running a home based business? What types of businesses are allowed? Is the business licensed? Is the business insured? Is the condo association covered if an incident occurs in a common area or involves another tenant or their pet? One of our greatest risks was dogs that were not dog friendly. We had to be constantly watching for signs of dog on dog or dog on cat aggression. If the board is aware of the business and has not made sure that adequate insurance has been obtained they could be held liable....See MoreAnyone losing baby mango's because of these incessantly high winds ?
Comments (4)I feel for you. When I was in North Port, I didn't have oranges for several years because every year, they would bloom then the winds would come and blow all the blooms off. I lived in a freaking wind tunnel!...See Moredarla84
