Please recommend Zone 6 hedge plant other than azalea

I'm a newbie in gardening and so far I only made terrible mistakes. I moved a row of evergreen(sorry don't know the species)as privacy hedge between my driveway and backyard (we have a corner house so it's the whole side behind my house). They all died. I finally removed those and suddenly realized our backyard is wide open to the street! This time I have to make it right so I ask all you professionals for Help. Here is in zone 6 and partial shade. (The hedge will facing east and there is a row of trees at south end perpendicular to it) We've already have many azalea at front yard and side of house. Is there anything else I can plant? Need 4-6 feet in height, evergreen and flowering ones.
