I've had it for maybe 6 years. I never would have bought it myself, but a few of my students got together and bought it in a 5 gallon container from a local nursery for me as a gift 6 years ago. I groaned silently when I saw that potted rose on my desk with a bow on it, thinking, what's the chance it's something I don't have, or something good, LOL. But it has done very well for me here. It's not fragrant at all, and I tend to specialize in fragrant roses, but it's a darned good performer, and disease-free. I have a lot of other mauve roses which are fragrant that I'd choose over this one, but it's a rock-solid performer if you're okay with its lack of fragrance. And if this helps, over the past three years I've been ruthlessly culling my herd from 375 to 300, and this rose is not one that has yet been put on the give-away list. I do also have the 1966 Silver Star, and folks should be aware that they are completely different roses. Susan

Hi, LUUK! Good to hear you have one! I checked my pics but could not locate the one flower pic I had of it, yes, one flower stalk, also very upright. I started making notes last year but cannot locate such. :-(. We will just have to wait. I like pronouncing Kinbuchi Tachi...I will have to remember to include it in brackets. Mocc, yes, of course! I will post update when silver is very apparent :-) There is another female forum member that has one but she is not that fussy about it..wish I could remember who? Will see if I made note.

Those look good! Did you get the price to go below 13.97 for Citrus Splash? I wanted Laura Bush too but it stayed at 17.47 even after entering discount codes. Wayside was the same way...i wanted to order trees, but even with the 40% extra code, it didn't go down any. I tried using the contact us button, but i got an email response saying that address was no good. So, both companies missed out on orders from me. Are you going to grow these indoors through the winter?

My LEH was also a weak grower. Kept her maybe 4 years. All she ever had was perhaps six skinny canes and maybe one flower at a time. Belle Story did not fair much better. A lovely delicate flower it had and it did flower more than LEH. The flowers on both shattered quickly. However they never developed a root structure here that a plant needs to excel. My MOP is to new to tell anything. In the first year I can say that growth was average. Seems as if she may do well here for me. Wonder how many roses that don't do well here are weather related issues. If only they could speak right.
