Easy Elegance roses...can't find

I am trying to find a list of all the Easy Elegance series of roses. Have been having trouble identifying all the different series and roses in each series.

So far I have found:

Easy Elegance Garden Art series

Easy Elegance Garden Path series

Easy Elegance Garden Wall series

Easy Elegance Garden Jubilee

When I went to the Easy Elegance web site they show the Easy Elegance Collection but do not even mention their various "series" of roses.

I have several of the EE roses and would like to purchase more. I do like to research a rose before buying and find it frustrating that I can't find more info. In the past I have found EE roses to be available locally, but hardly ever the same ones from year to year.

I share your frustration at finding detailed information on Easy Elegance roses and I cannot find them locally in the Kansas City area so I mail order. I ordered bare root 'Kiss Me' from Edmunds'roses last year, but they are not carrying any Easy Elegance roses this year. Sooner Plant farm & Nature Hills have some (Sooner is expensive, but a great place otherwise). I'm very happy with 'Kiss Me'.

I also suggest Sooner Plant Farm which has great plants, but yes...shipping is quite expensive. The other suggestion is bloomingbulb.com which has about 10 or so of the Easy Elegance roses with free shipping. I have never ordered roses from bloomingbulb but I have ordered lily and springflowering bulbs from them and I was pleased.

Lance, I see from your 'My Page' that you grow a few roses. :-) I've read that 'Kiss Me' has an ARS rating of 7.6 yet I've also read that it's highly disease resistant. Seems like 7.6 is a bit low for a rose that is supposed to be really good at resisting diseases. Other than fragrance, do you know much about it? I'm growing 'Quietness' as a trial cultivar for the Texas Agrilife Extension Service to see if it should become an Earth-Kind rose ( I get to do nothing to it and report back on how it's doing growing untouched) and I've only recently heard of the Easy Elegance roses. ---Sandy

You might try calling or e-mailing Burling at Burlington roses to see whether she would root one for you. She can root just about anything and if she has a mother plant it's very possible she'll help you out. I know she rooted a bunch of Annie Laurie McDonnell climbing roses (I have one of them) for interested buyers and had a waiting list for this rose before too long. The same thing could happen with the very desirable Cl. Lady Hillingdon. Judging by the size of the one described by Rogue Valley Nursery, I have the feeling that they have the climbing one too. I bought quite a few of these last year at Lowe's and am enjoying seeing how they are acting this spring here in zone 5. Due to my daughters wedding last fall I got NO outside work done, never even got my potted roses into the garage because so much wedding stuff was in there, so no winter protection at all. Little Mischief has tons of foliage and was mostly cane hardy. It's a short plant that has filled in quite well after being planted in the dead of summer last year. High Voltage was mostly cane hardy as well. Much taller. Two that I cannot find a tag for (but are the same - it's a symmetrical bed) I am pretty sure was Music Box. They were taller and mostly cane hardy as well. Wasn't expecting that from Music Box as I had read their vigor and hardiness was somewhat questionable. Grandma's Blessing was not cane hardy at all - just pruned it way down this week. Pretty sure it will grow back from the ground though. Have Champagne Wishes across the sidewalk and it wasn't very cane hardy either but is pumping out growth now. In a different bed (more exposed to wind and less snow cover) Sunrise Sunset planted late summer was almost fully cane hardy and has growth the entire length of sprawling 4' long canes. I suspect it's going to outgrow its spot in the bed and head into the yard this summer. My Girl looks good as well. Had to prune out some winter kill. Calypso had quite a bit of cane die but looks like it will grow back well from the ground. Unfortunately I had about 5 more still in the growers pots that never got planted and never got put in the garage. Whoops. I think one (super hero maybe???) may still be alive but the others don't look promising. That's my own fault though. They had had a whole bunch of them at Lowes earlier this week. I may have to go get a Kashmir (don't think I found it last year) and look for a Sweet Fragrance - debated on it last year and don't remember seeing it the other day. I did pick up two Above and Beyond climbers at Lowes - not Easy Elegance but same company. Never saw them around here before and want to put them on an arbor I got from Lowes 90% off the fall before last :)

I love EE roses! I plan to add more next year. I have the following EE roses currently in my gardens: 3 Paint the Town (+2 more this year) 3 Funny Face (planted 2004-2005) 3 Sunrise Sunset (planted 2006 and +2 more this year) 1 Music Box (planted this year) 2 Little Mischief (planted this year) 2 My Girl (planted last year) This is a picture of my round bed. In the background (sort of) are 2 My Girl and in front are 2 Paint the Town. I do little winter protection other than rake leaves around them in fall. Usually some cane die back, but not a lot most years. This past winter was warm and I had no die back. As you can see My Girl has gotten quite large! She is in constant bloom.

Yes it is frustrating to get info about the EE roses from Bailey's. I'm a member of the ARS North Central District (MN, WI & the Dakotas). At some of our meetings, MN people have complained about Bailey's promoting their products to the gardener because they are strictly a wholesaler to garden centers & they just don't seem to want make any effort to deal with us, rather they just want to promo their products thru garden centers. So if you don't have a garden center that pushes Bailey's products in your area, you're going to find it hard to find many of the EE roses. Also about a year ago, I remember one of the other roses forums having a discussion about Baileys & Ping Lim, the EE hybidizer, parting ways so if this is true, the EE roses may be on there way out as a Bailey's product line.

Yes, they parted ways. It is a very tough time for rose growers right now. Ping Lim does have a web site.

Did you look on helpmefind for a nursery that carries them? I know "The Rose Man Nursery" carries a nice selection of EE. My rose society ordered "Macy's Pride" from them for our project rose this year.

You might want to call the 800 number Baileys had last year and see if they have sold plants to a nursery near you. Their minimum order used to be 1000 plants. 1-800-829-8898

I found that there were no sales within two hundred miles of me.

Just a long shot because your zone is similar to mine, but if you're in Maine, O'Donals Nursery has had them in the past. I got a gorgeous Sunrise Sinset there. I know they've have Kiss Me, but I didn't bother with it.

My local nursery has Grandma's Blessing. Is this a good one?

Grandma's Blessing is beautiful & hardy, but does blackspot, so it would need spraying.

Sorry I haven't checked back sooner, but have been out of town without internet access.

Thanks for all the responses. I am hoping that locally I can find some of the EE. From the sound of the responses, it is hit or miss whether nurseries will stock EE or not. Darn anyway. The ones I have have really done good for me. I am hoping the Kiss Me is available, as I have only heard good about it.
