Way back in 55, people bought life insurance both as an investment and for the death benefit. But in the past 25 or 30 years, the economy has changes so much that there are many better investments than those wrapped around a death benefit. Some policies have a declining death benefit but a stable premium....to provide maximum benefit when the family is young...some are simply "paid up" and the cash value grows at a slow rate, others provide just a death benefit. Before you cash in a policy weigh the difference between the cash value and the death benefit....and consider borrowing cash to do what you want and letting your insurance pay for it after you are gone...if you don't want to leave a nest egg for your heirs. I would just like to comment even though this is an older thread. French door refrigerators with in-the-door ice dispensers are known to have problems. This is due to the ice maker being located in the refrigerator area rather than the freezer area. All brands have problems. We had to replace our Samsung french door refrigerator after two years because of recurrent problems with ice buildup around the ice maker making it unusable. Samsung repairmen came out several times, the last time even replacing the entire ice maker but to no avail. After much research I learned that these all have problems despite the brand and although not everyone who has a French door refrigerator with an in-the-door ice dispenser will have problems, these types of refrigerators have an inordinate amount of issues necessitating repair or replacement. We finally bought a French door refrigerator with the ice maker in the bottom and have no problems.

I agree with all the comments in the posts. I look at it this way....I TRUST my children to make good judgements about people and places. I believe strongly in consequences of behaviour. So I try to remember that when arguments are going on. For instance, my DS has dreadlocks in his hair, this has gone on for a year. In my mind they look messy and I have noticed that people do judge him by the way he looks and treat him accordingly. He also happens to go to a school where they have a hair policy and for the life of me I cannot understand why they have let him go through the whole year, without saying something about his hair !! I thought this would solve my dilemma of wanting him to have a neat haircut. Although I do not like his hair, I fully support his right to have his hair the way he wants it, his right to be an individual, he loves the way his hair is, and if he is happy then I am happy. We have had a lot of discusions about CONSEQUENCES of the school asking him to cut his hair. I asked him many questions about what he would do, and he understands (rather crankily) that he must conform, if they ask him to. I think this has been an important lesson for me and him. This led to many more discussions on conformity and when this is acceptable, and where. With my DD (19), I have had dramas over messy bedroom, but now I don't care, its not important. Its important to remember they are lovely people and that we can trust them to do the right thing. Encouragement is beter than critisism, in my mind. Make "I" statements is a good policy to work on. "I was concerned when you didnt phone me like you said you would ", not "You are so naughty for not phoning me, you are grounded for a week, and you can think about it " I also read any statement starting with "Don't" is negative and will lead to negative feelings, and probably moving into an agrument. Florantha, thank you for your suggestion to measure. I learned two things. First, the first faucet leans over perfectly over the drain area. Second, I had the part number and the dimension of this faucet wrong. It turns out that it is TARA ULTRA 33 816 875. This faucet has 9 1/2'' spout projection, 15 1/2'' total height, and 9 1/2'' height to aerator/spout outlet. In other words, it has 1.5in more spout projection and 3/4in more taller than the second one. Thank you
