Help! Sweating the small stuff

First off, thanks for all your help through our kitchen remodeling. We are about two weeks away from getting our home back. And we are sweating the small stuff!

We are trying to make the choice between two VERY similar faucets for our center island prep sink. The choice is between:

1) Dornbracht TARA ULTRA 33 818 875

The faucet has 11'' spout projection, Swivel spout, 16 5/8'' total height of faucet, 9 1/2'' height to aerator/spout outlet

2) Dornbracht TARA 33 800 875

The faucet has 7 7/8'' spout projection, Swivel spout, 14 3/4'' total height of faucet, 9 1/2'' height to aerator/spout outlet

As you can tell, we are sweating the small stuff. The two faucets are almost identical in shape with clean lines, except for the size. The first one is ever so slightly larger. Is it too large?

When we started the project, we thought we would have very small low profile faucet. As you can see, this is not very small. That said, I think it will be convenient to fill a pitcher with water or wash fruits and veggies withe headroom the faucet provides.

What are your experience with faucets for prep sinks?

For the main sink, we have a Tara Ultra integrated professional faucet.

i'd go with the bigger just because u can probably do more with it

Personally, I'd go with the smaller one. It accomplishes everything you want (filling pitchers etc...) but it just a tad less likely to get in the way otherwise. Also, it is more in proportion with the size of the sink.

Hope this helps you to cool down a bit as you enter the final lap or two... :)

Hello all I am having a time with my perimenopause. Bled all summer, now stopped since August, and feel much better except for the night sweats. I bought progensa 20 cream, no help, bought black cohash, seems to help some. I wonder what else I really need to try that will work. Should I get a soy/cohash mixture, or try soy tabs with the cohash? Unfortuantely, no insurance, so Dr.s visits are OUT. but I can't keep wasting money on stuff that does not work. has anyone tried Menozac? Supposed to be the BEST help. THanks Lori

I would love to post some pictures of my kitchen, but don't know how. I am not the most computer savy person. All my pictures are placed staight from the camera on a file. If anyone has easy tips let me know. I know the paper towel jars are beautiful, but can't get myselt to spend that much $. I also looked at Ballards, and having been thinkins about the wrought iron piece w/ a round basket weave balls on top. Would hold both paper and hand towels, but it is large. So many problems.

DS's dog is going thru something very similar and has been diagnosed with a bacterial infection.....probably staph. The first antibiotic upset his stomach horribly but he's doing very well on the current treatment. He's also on a short term dose of Prednisone for the terrible itching and hair loss. Poor thing was just miserable with the itching and his scratching was making things even worse. We fitted him with a loose 'shirt' so that he wouldn't injure himself even more with the scratching.

The half inch width on a full size sink doesn't matter and 9 inches depth is good. I love my 10, but a lot of folks swear by their 9s and have a little more room under the sink. My prep sink is 9 and I'm happy with it too. Now, about the drain, what size is your sink -- width and single or double bowl? Once you get past a certain width, nearly all the drains are center (if it is center rear, even better). I kept looking for an offset drain and DH didn't like the Shaw's original. After seeing all the center drains, I realized that the larger sinks have room for plates, pots or pans on both sides of the drain and that seems to be why they center it. I've been working with mine for over 3 years now and think I'd even prefer the center rear over the offset. My plumbing all stays to the back of the cabinet and I have a disposal with 2 DW connections plus recycling, trash, cleaning supplies, a NeverMT and an instant hot tank in that cabinet. There's more than one way to do things. Why do you think it's wrong? Because some of us have something different? Different is not wrong. Unless you have a particular reason why it is something you won't be happy with, move on. If you have an identifiable reason why this drain or any other things will drive you crazy with regret day after day, then fix it. You can return, sell or donate the sink you don't want, but it will be easier and worth more before you install it under a slab of counter and sticky stuff.

My "Waterfall" (Delta?) faucets lean right over the drain area of my Kohler single and double full-sized sinks if they're positioned right. No splash. (This is just luck--didn't think about this beforehand.)

Where do these two deposit the water when positioned straight on?

Florantha, thank you for your suggestion to measure. I learned two things. First, the first faucet leans over perfectly over the drain area.

Second, I had the part number and the dimension of this faucet wrong. It turns out that it is TARA ULTRA 33 816 875. This faucet has 9 1/2'' spout projection, 15 1/2'' total height, and 9 1/2'' height to aerator/spout outlet. In other words, it has 1.5in more spout projection and 3/4in more taller than the second one.

Just going by the handles since I'm months away from a prep sink, I like the first better. The second one's handle is less streamlined and clean.

I can't wait to see your kitchen all done! How come I never noticed those gorgeous floors before? Oh yeah, I was too busy drooling over your cabs!
