Are you sure you want antique roses for this job? I ask, because constant rebloom, vivid colors and glossy foliage aren't a combination you'd be likely to find in Europe at an early date, regardless of thorniness. My thornless, or nearly thornless garden roses, dating from prior to 1925, are: Chloris (matte foliage, once bloomer) Complicata (once bloomer, single, not very fragrant) "Dr. Peck's"/Charles Lawson of US commerce (once bloomer) Duchesse de Brabant (some thorns, less fragrance) Duchesse de Rohan (matte foliage) Empress Josephine (matte foliage, once bloomer) Gaspard Monge (once bloomer) Gloire des Rosomanes (not glossy, and a little thorny, but otherwise fits) Mme Jules Bouche (some thorns, cream colored flowers) Mme Plantier (once bloomer) Musk rose (matte foliage, reblooms for me, but wouldn't in Chicago, single) Perle d'Or (some thorns, otherwise fits, but not cold hardy) "Pickering Four Seasons" (matte foliage) rosa macrantha (once bloomer, single, not very fragrant) Sydonie (not all clone lines are thornless, and the little flowers aren't very strongly scented) Out of the rebloomers above, I'm doubtful whether the early Polyanthas, Hybrid Chinas or Hybrid Teas would make it through a Chicago winter, even with protection. Duchesse de Brabant is supposed to be good to 5b, but is the thorniest on the list, and my nose doesn't find it worth bothering over (your nose may vary). Of the others, Sydonie is the only one supposed to be cold hardy enough for the job, and it's far from being a constant bloomer. Good luck with your quest!

Mine looks good with non-rose plants, sort of off by itself with various types of foliage around it. For example the bronzy Phormiums--looks great with those! You might try just brown/bronzy foliage nearby. The brown/burgundy Pennesetum setaceum rubrum grass--great combo with FC flowers. It's just an unusual color--not pure clear orange, not red, kind of dusky or greyed orange-red, and the duskiness is what is tricky. That's why it looks good with 'Tuscan Sun', because TS has that dusky/greyed quality as well. 'Disneyland' and 'Easy Does It' are in the same color range, but completely without the dusky/greyed quality, instead with more pure, clear tones, so they don't look right with FC even though they are in the same color range. When all else fails, just close your eyes and inhale FC's fragrance. Yummy good!

My Rainbow's End isn't a climbing mini, but it certainly blooms bright yellow at first. It takes each bloom a couple of days to turn bright pink and eventually fade out. I like it, but it doesn't seem as robust as 80% of my other minis & minifloras, and it has really short stems--like no stems at all. It also likes to completely defoliate about twice each summer even though I spray a bit. Are reds out of the question? I have a Daddy Frank that's nearly the size of a hybrid tea after 2 years and it's always in bloom, gorgeous, and far too tall for where I planted it. Jean Kennealley has done excellent for me here, and the nonclimbing version is quite vigorous and tall. A bonus with Jean is a lovely scent. It's not coral pink, but a light peach that might look muddied among yellows and pinks; that would be the main concern there, I think.

Yours looks a bit different from the ones I have seen so far in terms of the flower shape and the number of flowers on one stem, but the colour is similar. I forgot that I started this thread before purchasing, thanks to everyone who shared their photos! @Bent you’re absolutely right! They’re never hot pink. I took another trip to the store and I found a flowering coral rose next to the hot pink. Turns out, they were both labelled as “first prize” but another that was exactly the same, was tagged as FC. I brought this to their attention and it was quickly sorted! Seil thank you for your input also! When I got it, there was an old bloom on it that was coral, the next day, a new one opened and it was exactly like you said! The smell is WONDERFUL! I stop and get a good deep whiff each time I’m passing it hehe
