the best orange and yellow bi-color roses

Gee, the orange rose thread was lotsa fun! I can't resist starting another one - any suggestions for true orange and yellow bicolor rose for my orange and yellow garden? I suspect that I will be planting more than one or two roses there...

I have Octoberfest and it has done wonderfully. It is orange with yellow. I also have Spice Twice that is a flaming coral orange. Both are moderate on blackspot which is a plus.

I adore my Honeysweet. Most unusual color, no blackspot for me, blooms lots. Its a Buck rose and tough. One of my favorite apricots is the Austin Carding Mill. I understand Chamblees will be carrying that soon own root - I plan to get several. I adore Fragrant Apricot [Roses Unlimited]. I had Belle Epoque a while back but wasn't that crazy about the color. When it died, I wasn't interested in replacing it, but that was just my opinion - you might love it. I adore apricots and love the pure, clear color such as Carding Mill, Tamora, Just Joey. If I ever ran across a good plant of Just Joey I would get it - have seen photos of huge blooms, but understand the bush is gangly. The blooms would make up for it........

Hi Sue I'm trying to think of a pink that doesn't fade in Melbourne, but there are few. Probably Flamingo and Queen Elizabeth are closest, but both grow very tall in my garden. The Childrens Rose is a pale pink to begin with, but doesn't fade. Gertrude Jeckyll doesn't fade and has a great perfume, but she''s not to everyone's taste. Gold Bunny and Friesia are very popular yellows here, but I can't vouch for their colourfastness. All those are readily available in Eastern Australia. Isn't our limited range of roses a pain? Sue

Reg, are you actually ignoring what I'm suggesting? LOL... Carolyn, I would not couch my last post in that manner. However, to deign to your recommendations on this, I may try Big Rainbow (does that help to somewhat assuage your view of my unintended impertinence ?). Is it sweet ? If not sweet, I will not try it. For me, all (predominately) yellow-orange ripe toms must present a high level of sweetness for me to select them. That is the primary reason that I will not grow cults like YellowPear... which is rather lacking of sweetness. Don't misconstrue me, I am a big fan of the strong assertive tastes that many of the blacks and reds boldy slam out. And the subtle flavor nuances that some of the G-W-R toms display is not something that I would miss either. Reg

WOW...That Brass Band is spectacular! Oh, if only I could grow a modern rose that size in zone 4!

My choice would be an old tea rose, Rosette Delizy, which I think is incredibly beautiful, and which in my estimation no modern rose can touch in terms of beauty and lushness of coloring among the bicolored roses.

Playboy and Westerland. If a very soft orange qualifies, I still love Folklore but for me if was a skyscraper rose just like Abe Lincoln. I have never grown it, but Pat Austin had vivid wonderful color even in the hot Texas sun. Gorgeous shrub. LOVE these colors@

Octoberfest- this pic doesn't really do this rose justice when you see brite pics of this rose believe it! I had just moved this rose before the move the blooms positively glowed an had beautiful form.
any others I could recomend have red included in the colors.

Octoberfest, Oranges-N-Lemons, Dream Come True, and Autumn Splendor (mini-fl) are my favorite Orange blend roses.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful photos and great suggestions. Based on appearance alone, I would have way too much trouble deciding which ones to get. I'll have to research them all to determine which ones can stand the climate here, so I suppose that will ultimately be the criterion that will gratefully take the decision out of my hands!

Kate, I think your middle rose is a Chihuly. I thought I posted with some pics here a couple days ago, but I don't see my post??? I'll try again.

I think Chihuky is just lovely, even though I don't relly like ornage roses, neither do i care for bi-colors. But this one is a beauty, and all the guys here love it, so it stays. Pretty clean and vigorous in its first year, too.
