For those of you who like beautiful white star shaped blooms blushed with pink which fade to salmon, Dialaelia ÂSnowflake has bloomed every year for me from every new growth for 3 years now and counting.

Small miniatures - My sedirea japonicas have bloomed 3 years and counting...and they are fragrant!

For longevity and faithfulness - phal anthura boston. Blooms and blooms! I secretly commit a terrible evil when I water - I separate my orchids into tiers, and I soak the ones I care about more first, and then I use the same water (yes I know!! Don't do this!! I have a limited supply of RO water!) for the plants I care less about...I feel like a parent admitting I like one child more than another! I do this because then I'm sure that any diseases will spread from upper tier to upper tier or upper tier to lower tier but never from lower tier to upper tier. Anyway! This phal always gets the shaft when I water, and then it blooms and I am reminded of it's beauty and perseverance and I feel ashamed.

Howeara Lava Burst - blooms 3-4 times per year, every year since 2001...
Asco. Princess Mikasa, Suksamran, Fuch's Sunset, and a half-dozen others - 4-5x yearly since 1999-2002...
Good old Encyclia/Prosthechia (whatever the genus is this week) cochleata has not been without flowers since April 2003...
I suspect a lot of it depends on where you live and how you grow!
Some things can be counted on to bloom at exactly the same time each year - that's something! Liparis condylobulbon - new year's day; Iwanagaara Appleblossom - April Fool's Day; Catt. bowringiana - Sept. 11.

Although I do not have that long a track record, my Aeranthes Grandiose 'Shooting Star' courtesy of Oak Hill has pretty much been in non-stop bloom now for 7 months, and putting up more spikes! It must be typical of these because this plant has been a fixture on his "in spike" list non-stop for a while now.

My Phrag "Sorcerer's Apprentice" has also been making new growth and blooming non-stop since acquisition. It is a beautiful if not sprawling plant. Unfortunately my wife and kids call it my "scrotum plant" . I think it is beautiful anyway. It is multifloral and I overheard my daughter announce "Dad's growing more scrotums" ... "no, its his plant, a flower on one of his orchids". She was on the phone with a friend and noted a new spike, forgetting herself she announced the buds arrival and gave her phone friend something to wonder about.

Calvin, I am in the same boat with the R/O. My local Walmart already has me as "The water guy" when I go in to refill my 1 & 5 gallon containers. I have contemplated doing what you are doing but in stead have been sort of dunking and recyling along the same lines. Except when leaching, I go all out for a good leaching and its R/O for everyone! We will go to Orchid Hell together brother.

Ditto to rfraser and Phrag. Sorcerer's Apprentice. I have two and finally got one of them moved to s/h this year but waited for the other to quit blooming to make the transfer. Another spike appeared before it quit so it sits with his bum in a saucer of water. They bloom for soooo long, it might never get moved.

Lots of phals going for months. Sometimes I want to repot them and they won't quit blooming so I just repot anyway. They never miss a beat and proceed with life and give you another spike to boot.

I've done the same thing with phals Brooke, even mounting them on their sides, they keep right on truckin.....
Dendrobium (phal types) too. I've never lost a bud or flower, however, Florida is den heaven, almost....;0)

The growing/blooming fools for me here has got to be first: dens and phals and then Miltassia. These guys are always making new growth and bloom off of every one. I love the shape of the flowers too...;0)

My Haraella. It's thrown out about fifteen spikes this year. The two it has now will be the first to bloom, however. I've gone out of town or gotten majorly ill each time it tried to bloom before, and it blasted when the water stopped :)

The Slc. Firelighter I have also seems to be a bloom-regardless type. On the first normal growth after a total plant sunburn, it bloomed. It's putting out another new growth now and looks like that growth may bloom, too.

I have an old den that survived a storm a few years back. It blooms most of the year. Even the keikis (sp?) bloom.

Asco. Princess Mikasa has bloomed about 7-8 times in the last 20 months, and summer produced double spikes. It always seems to be blooming, or in the process of making more blooms. I can't say enough about it, I think it is my favorite in terms of reliability.
Also, some of the NOID dends and phals from big box stores have proven especially worthy, they always seem to flower; when nothing else is. Or. maybe I just have so many?

the "spider" orchid I rescued from HD - it was the least dead looking one on the table. it survived and flowers every year. i have over watered it; underwatered it; every mistake that could be made with an orchid i did. I would call it my practice orchid. the survival of this orchid gave me courage to buy others and the start of my addiction.

Stellis porschiana. Grows like a weed for me and sends masses of flower spikes up each year. If only I had that much luck with something more showy than a 3mm brown flower.

My Phal schilleriana has been a clockwork bloomer over the past five years. My other phals twice a year at least (Phal. Caribbean Sunset ÂSweet FragranceÂ, Dtps. Taida Salu ÂSunset FireÂ, Dtps. Beauty Sheen ÂLan Lan').

Glad to hear about Princess Mikasa - I'd like to have one ascocenda. I did have a vascocenda that bloomed more than 2x a year - didn't seem to recognize seasons at all.

Calvin, do your Sedireas ever bloom more than 1x a year?
