New Rose Garden - Cold Climate! Help!

Hello!

I am interested in starting a rose garden - so, I am a total newbie at this. I am hoping that the experienced rose growers on here can give me a few tips. I live in Michigan, zone 5. Temps can get down to -15-20, but very rarely. A normal year, it does get down to -10. In the Summer we get it hot in the 90's. The spot I plan to put them is one of our hottest places on the property for some reason.

I am trying to figure out what roses to get. I would like ones we don't need to protect a whole lot or ones that don't die back a lot every year. Disease resistance is helpful. The types I am looking at are climbers, shrubs, and ground cover, and perhaps some T-roses. And they must be repeat bloomers or at least their fall stage has some colorful characteristics (lots of rose hips, leaves change color, etc). Oh, and the fragrance. Most of the roses should have a fragrance I think.

So, I am calling all Michigander Rose Growers! Please recommend me your favorites!

Thank you so much!
