Wow! That is a gorgeous pond! I tried for a multi-level waterfall on my pond, but couldn't get enough height to it. Yours is absolutely stunning. I love the addition of the driftwood I haven't been able to find any. I also like the paved sidewalk that comes right to the edge of the pond. Like you said, the plants will grow and it will lose that "new" look about it. If you're planning to add more plants, I would suggest some creeping plants, like alyssum, creeping phlox, blue star grass, bacopa, catmint, etc. They spread out nicely over the rocks. Just something you might want to consider. Your pond looks great just like it is.

I see Mr. Scarecrow standing guard, ;-) I have one also, but I'm having problems with a leak around my faucet, so I've had to net the pond until I can get that taken care of. What kind of fish do you have?

Wow, I think it looks wonderful. Very well done. I think the plants actually look very lush around the pond, much better than a redo actually. It will be great once the pond plants start to take off.

I love your pond. I live just south of Buffalo and used the trees that were lost in the ice storm two years ago to embelish my ponds. I love the look of the wood and the memories are priceless.

The idea of placing the driftwood by the falls was my youngest daughter's (12 years old) idea so I'll pass on the credit for that to her. She thought of "grandma's" cottage and the dam near there and how the logs get jammed on top, come down the stream, and are scattered around the base perimeter of the pond. And actually all the driftwood we used is driftwood we collected out of the same lake, so it also has sentimental value to us.

I really can't invision a spitter. What I think would blend in to this picture is something like one of those large ceramic flower pots with the flat side that gives it the appearance of being partially buried in the ground would look cool by the side of the pond somewhere pouring into the pond.

Something else that might look nice for your pond is to use a chimnea for a spitter/fountain. I've seen other ponders take the chimneas and set them by the edge of the pond, put some rock in the bottom of it and plumb water to it and it pours out the mouth into the pond. I've seen one pond that had a chimnea that was a fish and the water poured out the fishes mouth into the pond. Looked really cool.

Very lovely. I am envisioning something like that to make out of my 3 ponds to go down a hillside in my backyard. If my vision was xray and I could see the plumbing in all these beautiful pictures it would make me happy, lol. I am afraid they are going to sit here empty all summer while I try to figure it out, lol. You have done an amazing job.

Wow, it's incredible! The only thing I think it needs is a comfortable bench so you can sit there and admire it. I'm saving your picture for reference in case I decide I can go in-ground.
