Good morning, Bustopher! Yes, I have Sugar Moon, and yes, I am very happy with it. A vigorous bush with dark green glossy leaves, crystal white very fragrant blooms. My first attempts to post photos were abject failures, but I will try again: I should point out that I bought mine "live" in January at a nursery here in southern California. It did have to survive the rigors of cross country travel. I should also reiterate what has been mentioned here many times before: a rose that does well in Pasadena is not necessarily going to do likewise in Kansas City. With that in mind, I would surely suggest that you re-up your order and try again for next season. Here, at least, it's a definite winner. Kay

Elsielindquist: as long as you don't eat the leaves you'll be ok. Pull the stalks off by giving them a slight twist, then cut off the leaves. If the stalk is thick enough it's ok to harvest it. Do not let rhubarb flower, twist those blooming stalks off immediately, they sap the strength from the plant. You won't need to divide it unless it gets too scrawny. Then you dig the whole thing out of the ground, divide it and immediately plant again or give some to a friend who wants one. Rhubarb does not like to be disturbed, it will grow happily for many years in the same place, just don't forget to feed it at least once a year. Rhubarb makes wonderful jam especially if you add strawberries to make it nice and red. Instead of all that sugar that you need to make rhubarb palatable try using at least half of Splenda to make jam.

Live on the coast in the Carolinas. Went to my book club meeting yesterday. Menu included pimento sandwiches, pecan tassies, cheese straws, and the drink was a kool aid punch, your favorite flavor of sweetened kool aid, large can of pineapple juice, ginger ale, she had frozen a block of the punch and had it floating in the punch bowl to keep it cool. Had other things, tea cakes, cucumber sandwiches, and also another drink with cheerwine and ginger ale. Reason we have so much food, we can take a sampling of our favorite foods, not sure if we are a book club or a food club. We sure have fun at meetings.

Well I'm NOT a blue person. Indoors I have NO blue. My husband doesn't understand this. I have no idea why I feel this way. Outdoors things are different! I have a blue/yellow/white garden bed which I love. Yes, delphineums, catananche, campanulas, baptisia and more, are mixed with trollius, coreopsis moonbeam, peony Claire de Lune and low growing white clematis and aquilegia. It is a big mix and wouldn't be any fun at all without the blue! There are loads of clematis that are purple or blue/purple, but also some very nice blues I think. You do get into the question of "what is blue?" My husband and I think this could well be a male/female issue! "Victoria Blue" Salvia is the closest thing. I use it a lot. It is such a heavy, long bloomer, and about one in twenty of them will survive winter here. Just wish I could predict which would survive so that I could save seed from those alone and perhaps work up a more hardy strain. By the way, the Hydrangeas in Memphis, Tennessee are incredible. After reading all the posts, I now understand why some gardeners prefer the color. And I have to say that I've never met any gardeners whom I would consider snobbish. It's a little too purple and doesn't look right as a "patriotic" design. I will probably tear out the red and white and keep the "blue" (purple) since it seems to like this desert heat. Someone mentioned black flowers, and I remembered seeing black pansies in the most recent Burpee catalog. They're a beautiful velvety black with a spot of yellow in the center. I like the blue flowers, rather than the blue foliage plants. And no, blue is NOT my favorite color - I have nothing blue in my home decor. I just like the uniqueness of the TRUE blue and my stubbornness to get people to stop calling it purple!!!!
