It is still June, so not so bad, it is going to be much worse later. From the list of repeat blooming roses that I don't spray these are the winners so far. Knock out - healthy Darlow's Enigma - healthy Home Run -healthy Puerto Rico -15 % leaf loss Ducher -15% leaf loss Arethusa -10 % leaf loss Earth Song -15% leaf loss Quitness - 10% leaf loss New Dawn - less then 10% Awakening -less then 10% Lyda -20% Belinda's Dream -30% Perle d'Or -30% Cecille Brunner -30% Marie Pavie- 40% Illusion -10% Quadra - 5-10% White Cup- 15% Carefree Sunshine -less then 10% In my sister's no spray garden close to me Dublin Bay- 10% Dortmund -10-15% Knock out -healthy Colette -30% McCartney Rose - 20% I also have plenty of healthy once bloomers and species that I never spray, too many to list now. If anybody interested, I can always share with them. I do spray my Austins, Bourbons and moderns. They would be 100% bald by now w/o spray. I see it in my sisters organic garden. Good culture, plenty of sun and defoliated roses :( I am trying to get rid of roses that require spraying, but it is so difficult to part with some of them (Lady Hillingdon, Yolande de Aragon, Deuil de Dr Reynaud, Abraham Darby, etc). They all are huge and beautiful. I am givivng away more and more of these to good homes. Olga

Awww, thanks so much Jim, RamblinRozez, Harold, Boxo, Carol, and Aimeekitty! Harold, we miss you and Adele! and hope and hope she is continuing to get stronger and better! I was looking at Climbing America today because I've got another very large bud that will open and it reminded me how spectacular yours and Boxo's must be looking! Like realllll climbers, whereas mine are just a few cane wannabes, lol! and yes, I'm thinking in July-August, some of your Meyer lemons must be in the works! Harold yes, I love Folklore. The scent is FANTASTIC and falls second to Mr. Lincoln. Speaking of scent, I really enjoy the honeysuckle sweetness of Cornelia and Ghislaine de Feligonde. Penny Lane smells like gardenia. My Asiatic lilies are about to start blooming too!!!! they're getting real fat and heavy so another set of lumps should be helping themselves along. Florence-inspired Compassion and Viking Queen give such pretty blooms, but I'm always missing out on Viking Queen, because being a baby band, she blooms so fast and I get up so late, I miss out on so many pretty showings, whereas Compassion is verrrrry forgiving of my late to bed, late to rise habits and always looks pretty and opens very gradually, thank goodness! Viking Queen is one prolific constant bloomer too. She is just like her namesake, a baby Viking! She just shot up a 2'2" brand new cane as well, and is trying to match the Big Boys, lol! Oh, by the way, here are my nightmare invasive gladiolus. Do not let their lively cheery little faces fool anyone! They are highly invasive in my garden. I had to transplant 50 of those things because they were taking over my entire rose bed. And now they've taken over the most barren places I could plant them at! To this day, I keep having to dig up dozens upon dozens of those things because they keep resprouting in my rosebed. Sneaky little things are too pretty to burn with a flame torch, lol!

I would also endorse The Generous Gardener. It is actually a pale warm creamy blush color but it reads clean and fresh. I think it will show up better on a picket fence than pure white would, and pure white looks dirty as the blooms fade. Mine reblooms in frequent cycles. Sombreuil is a thorny beast, and you don't want it where anyone will pass close by. The canes are also a bit too stiff to train easily, though it can be done. But you won't enjoy the process. Sally Holmes actually wants to be a very large shrub. No doubt you could make it be a climber, but you would be fighting its nature and you would have to be vigilant. Very few roses are actually continuous bloomers.

Very nice! I think Red Eden is just gorgeous. She was very stingy for me but boy, when she blooms they are stunners!
Thank you for sharing photos of your place and your efforts.
As for Mrs. "Can", I've only seen her VERY wide. She's a BIG GIRL but a stunner too.

Love the deck. I imagine it's a great place to enjoy your roses. I have the creamy Eden, which I adore. The red Eden is a gorgeous!

Lovely, Stacian. If you're uploading the photos from your hard drive using the "Image file to upload (optional)" in the "post a follow-up", you can only upload one per post. If you go to Flickr or Photobucket, or some of the other online photos sharing sites, you can copy the html code of the photos from those sites, paste them to your post and insert many photos per entry. It isn't difficult. You just have to pay attention to getting the first one done, then it's second nature. Kim

I have Red Eden and the Cream/Pink one except that one is much smaller than I'd like. I bought it as a band before I found out that a nursery about an hour away from me was selling it in large 15 gallon buckets. That's where I met and fell in love with my Red Eden and within a year, it went gangbusters in the garden! It practically ripped down my trellis and training it was so hard on the trellis for me that I put in two more obelisks in the back.

I did the html code embedding thing - I think it worked once for me before but yesterday it just didn't want to work. Maybe it was bc the photos were set to private and then I made them public and the public setting took a little bit to take effect.

Also, I went to Home Depot yesterday and almost couldn't resist bringing home an Angel Face bush to go with my climber but I want to try as many new varieties as I can so I sped away quickly from her fragrant blooms.
