Yes. Grandmother's Hat is blooming here, as well. Always makes me happy.

Seil, that bloom is nodding so I have to hold it up! Very heavy and fragrant. Will be nice when bush reaches a larger height.

Mary, thanks for posting these pictures. Your Grandmother's Hat looks great! May I ask how old your rose is? Mrs. Dudley Cross is very pretty, too, and the size of the bloom is simply stunning! So nice to see some roses flowering in the middle of winter.

The Grandmothers Hat I bought from Jeri and Clay Jennings about 3 years ago in a 1 gal. pot. The Mrs. Dudley Cross went in 2 years ago (bought it as a 1 gal. plant). I started Aunt Margie's Rose a couple or three years ago from a cutting I got in the mail from Lance in Tacoma.

Mrs. Dudley's VERY clean for you. She didn't much like it here, and demonstrated her discontent by mildewing.

Mary, thanks for letting me know how old your roses are. I have a Grandmother's Hat, too, and it is in the ground since last summer. So your photo gives me a pretty good idea what to expect from it size-wise since we are in the same climate zone.

Aunt Margies Rose is a polyantha right? I just added mine this year and it didn't get a chance to bloom before winter set in. It looks like it has large blooms for a poly....not that I'm complaining! :)

Aunt Margie's flowers are about 1.5 inches at the most. I just moved it to give it a better spot for blooming, I hope. It is very fragrant to my nose and blooms in clusters like most polys that I've had.

I have two of your three roses, Peachie, and wish I still had the other one but Grandmother's Hat, although it grew wonderfully, had flowers that lasted about five minutes in my heat. Yours is lovely. I have two of Mrs. Dudley Cross since I'm so fond of it. My Aunt Margie's Rose, which is over three years old and planted against the house, is about 5 1/2 feet tall and wants to be a climber. I love the old-fashioned, fragrant little blooms and this rose blooms a lot for me. Great pictures!

Ingrid, today I realize I may need to swap the locations of two roses. You say your Aunt Margie's Rose will climb. I've got a new Excellenz von Schubert in a corner spot and perhaps I should put Aunt Margie there instead. I never get this rose placement right! I can see EVS is going to take off. It's now or never if I plan to do it.
Yes, my Grandmother's Hat does not have the best blooms in summer. But it is still young. Thanks for the input as it helps alot.

Grandmother's Hat is a great rose. I am always amazed by the size of the flowers on Mrs. Dudley Cross. Huge.
