I'm sorry, I don't have much knowledge on this plant as I've never grown one, but you're right about the sunlight. An East or West window with something infront to diffuse the light is best. The brown edges may also be a sign that the humidity's too low. These plants like some humidity. They also like to be kept somewhat moist, but do let it dry out just a bit between waterings. I also use room temperature water on my plants. It's easier on them as cold/hot water can shock/kill the roots respectively. I would DEFINITELY move it out of that pot with no drainage holes. Drainage holes are an aboslute must must must! You'll know if it needs a bigger pot when you remove it from it's current pot. If there's a mass of roots all curled around the bottom, then it needs a bigger pot, but only move it up an inch or two max. There's slightly different instructions for repotting (putting it back in the same size container) and potting up (putting it in a bigger container). Both are relatively simple once you get the hang of it. What can make it difficult is the plant (large, hanging, delicate...) I'm unsure how difficult this plant is in particular. Hopefully someone else can chime in and help you out some more. Best of luck!

BittyBatts Although the peat based potting soils degrade into very low Ph mediums, stunting plants, repotting should fix that. African Violets, potted in peat based potting soils, are fine with any water Ph 8 or under. My water is 9+ I add phosphoric acid to bring the water I use on plants to Ph 7. It was easy after I figured it out but required some math to find the parts per million of phosphorus. It also required knowledge of how to mix water and acid. how to store acid and how to dilute water with acid to the proper Ph. Trust me, water Ph, unless your water is so thick with dissolved solids you can plant in it and the Ph is above 8, you don't want to mess with it. It requires addition of acids, the best being food grade phosphoric which despite the label is extremely corrosive in its undiluted state. Also, it is necessary to know how much phosphorus (ppm) are being added when you bring the Ph down. Phosphorus is a fertilizer. It is possible to use citric acid (expensive) sulphuric (dangerous) or nitric (dangerous) so it is best to leave the water alone if you don't have an extreme problem. Or repot every 6 months to counteract the buildup of minerals and Ph in the soil Very high Ph water can, over time, seriously affect plants. Aha, finally a question I can answer! (I'm new here but I've read just about every post on potting mix I could find.) Head on over to the "Container" forum and read the series of posts about this very topic from a very knowledgeable poster named Al/Tapla and the many many many other people who have had success with his potting mixes. There are also other folks who use different mixes, but there's definitely concensus about the idea of creating a fast draining but well aerated mix for containers to grow successfully long term. The key thing I've learned about potted citrus is they don't like soggy roots. Basic potting mixes have too much organic material and that not only stays wet too long, but it breaks down and collapses quickly, accelerating root rot and the poor nutrient uptake. When I got here a couple weeks ago, the idea of "home brewing" my own potting mix sounded so revolutionary and a bit crazy, and now, I'm a convert. I do a slight variation of the mix Al recommends, because I want to grow using a bit more organic material than he uses. You might also want to read his fertilizer posts... all very helpful. Yovan, one of the two cuttings did not make it, mostly my fault learning. The other cutting is doing very well. No where near the size it should be. I neglected it for 1.5-2 years due to countless life obligations that I could not get away from. June/2017 it was in such bad shape every leaf was curled and dried up to a crisp from not being watered for over a month in very hot temps. My family and I were forced to vacate our home due to an asbestos contamination and were unable to return. When i finally was able to retrieve my tree's and did my best to bring it back and have been taking overly good care of it since. It has completely come back to life, dropped all its old leaves and has grown all new and some. We are now in a new home and I am hoping this spring it will take off and make up for my lack of taking care of it for years! I will try and take a picture of it this evening when I return home.
