HOUSEPLANTSHow to Grow Orchids Indoors
Orchids are the exotic aristocrats of the flower world and can make themselves comfortable in almost any home
Full StoryCymbidiums are growing really well, but they are absolute scale magnets! I started to pick them off, but it doesn't last long. What might be the best way to deal with scale other than throwing out the plants?
Another thing is that despite growing really well, they never rebloomed. And this was even before the scale invasion. They were in bloom when I bought them, each with at least 4 pseudobulbs, and I have divided about 4 years ago, and they now both have about 8 pseudobulbs each, so they are definitely mature plants. I give them strong light, but not midday sun, feed and water regularly, and in winter they get nights in the 50's (unheated sun room) and days near 70.
Any suggestions are welcome.
