Sides a hurting from laughing so hard. I have that times 3 every 4 to 5 AM. They take turns and would use a bat if the could!

Hi Lis! I can't help with suggestions of where to go since I'm a west coaster. But I can completely and wholeheartedly agree with Laura and Gin. Take lots of xanax, valium or something similar. If you don't want to take it, slip it into the kids' juice. And start planning a quiet, private, child-free trip NOW for you and Carlos for after your family vacation. Trust me, you will need one. I'm speaking from experience here..................... We took a 14 year old and two 19 year olds to Maui last year. They weren't nearly as annoying as younger kids and I still ran out of xanax before the trip was over. Luckily for me, a lady that worked at one of the galleries I visited several times while we were there felt my pain. She very kindly dipped into her personal valium stash (she needed them to deal with all those pesky tourists) and shared with me. She was my personal savior from that point on. I personally believe that vacations with children aren't vacations at all. They are some sort of cosmic penance for past transgressions.

It was a wild one wasn't it? O.K. today, very windy but that is rather normal for western NE this time of year. What isn't normal was that 2 tornados were on the ground yesterday. Both tore up pivots but did little other damage. First Feb. tornados ever recorded in NE in Feb. Had to go to North Platte yesterday morning, very foggy with a off and on sleety mist. When we came home in the P.M. we had torrential rains, tornadic winds, thunder snow and small hail in the 45 minute drive. Haven't heard from our kin in southern Missouri and am getting concerned.

Calling all short people with a 10' deep sink

I would think the shorter the person is, the less problems they would have with a deeper sink. Because their hands are physically closer to the bottom of the sink than a taller person. =) I've got a 9 1/2" deep Blanco sink that will be undermounted below a 1 1/4" granite countertop...so 10 and 3/4" deep. I'm glad I'm only 5 foot 4!!

Right now, he's very serious about his health issues. Starting a regime of good eating. I called yesterday to see what he did for the Super Bowl (hoping no wings). He had two friends over. They decided against a big party because of food issues. His guy friends brought veggie sticks and fruit and his girlfriend made a heart-healthy soup from a recipe she got on line. He said it was delicious. Hopefully he sticks with it. He had a friend who died last year from extreme alcoholism and he kept saying, Mom if he doesn't stop drinking, he's going to kill himself. So I think he really got the message. He's 49 and wants to live a long healthy life. As I said before, I think he's a very lucky young man that he got a strong warning with no damage done. Holly, I hope your husband is doing well. Pam, unbeknownst to me, my son had warning signs, too, but ignored them. This time he was flushed and sweating and thank God for his girlfriend because she noticed it and said I'm taking you to the emergency room right now. If he had been home alone, he probably would have ignored it again. I had a friend who had tongue cancer and when visiting him in the hospital, he was blowing smoke rings through the hole in his tongue! I posted this in hopes that everyone would take heed, not ignore warning signs and go get a check-up. Whether it be your heart, or something else, often the signs are there and we ignore.

Tears from laughing. All three cats are adept at the stomping around and kneading things. Baxter is the cheek patter. His finaly act of desperation is to start pawing the covers off you. He's not very gentle either. That always gets me up.

So funny and true!
That is totally our cat and my husband. He likes to scratch the side of the mattress and now they show little holes and tears where he has been trying to wake the poor man up. Also has this habit of using one's forehead as a springboard to jump on the headboard. Of course the cat knows better than to pull that on me. LOL

That is so our cat lol! She will do exactly the same thing!(well not the bat part though lol) Especially on weekends because during the weeks she is used to getting up at 5:30 am with my husband who feeds her at that time. Thanks for the clip it was cute!

I'm so glad you all enjoy that. My cats are so like this too. Jody, I have a cheek patter also and sometimes she pokes me in the eye, its maddening! But what really drives me crazy is when I do get up to feed them, they walk up to it, sniff it and they start scratching the floor around the food as if they were burying it for later and then walk away.........UGH! They are so spoiled and they know it.....but I love them and they know that too. sigh

He-he-he-he...ha-Ha-HA-HA-HA-HA...!!!

That is so true! Minus of course the baseball bat part. Speaking of balls this reel reminded me of our last cat Gypsy. She was an adorable seal point himmy that was a perfect pet in practically every way but one: she had this annoying habit of waking Rob up in the morning by jumping high in the air then landing square on his ... ahem ... well you know. Guess she knew it was a guaranteed way to wake him up. She never tried this with me because she knew it would earn her a one way flight through a glass window. I'm not nearly as sweet in disposition as my partner Rob.
