I have always wanted Irene Churucca. Your photograph does her justice. Hopefully, Vintage will offer her soon. I am a sucker for all those peaches, cream and soft yellow roses. Grandma's hat looks luscious; Belle Storey frilly and feminine. Cameo Perfume seems fragile with her porcelain petals. Beautiful pics as usual. Thanks for posting them.

Thanks you two. Here are some more I missed. Mme. Jules Boucher, the bloomingest rose I ever saw. Molyneux The ever so fragrant Charles de Gaulle who is not a bloom ninny. He waits, and waits and then blows you out of the water with his scent and color. Speaking of color, Traviata-1962 by Meilland Jude the Obscure and another of Mr. Moore's opus,Out of Yesteryear--highly suggest the Stone method of pruning on this one.

I have well rooted cuttings of "The Fairy" and a rambler I was told was "Gardenia Rose" The Fairy (I have two) are small, but have been growing on their own roots for about 6 months. The Rambler (a true beauty , once blooming, but worth every inch of realestate for the sheer abundance of blooms) has been in the ground for a year now. and will need serious pruning. Rugosa Red (dark pink actually) I have every size of this, blooms heavy in the spring and occassionally for the rest of the year. Beautiful fragrant, ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` I want: Lady Banks Rose.(Rosa banksiae Lutea) Cutting(s) of any size well rooted I will consider other old rambler or shrub types. But I really want this one, I have had no success with cuttings of this rose and am hoping that someone has had better luck than me. I have many other things available for trade including 3 different weigelia (red, pink, variagated) , giant green hosta, coral bells (rasberry regal) all of my plants are well established and would be shipped priority mail, BARE ROOT, with the foliage trimmed back to reduce shock and and allow for shipping in an appropriate sized parcel.

Some more stuff. One bloom on my small 'Cameo' Quince. Perfect form. 'Alba' Redbud. Not a prolific bloomer, but very nice next to it's species brethren. Seedling of 'Crimson King' Norway maple. Was just a neglected stick for years, but glad I never cut it down. Was a very deep burgundy last year, seems to not be as deep this year. Will stay this color all summer, with just a slight greening of the leaf centers. 9-10 ft. this year. 'Shimanishiki' Japanese Tree Peony. Has 3! buds this year. First to open (not quite fully). 'Ryusen' Acer palmatum. Great lemon-lime effect with new growth on old. 'Albospica' Sequoia Sempervirens. Not a great pic of the cream-white new growth. Cercis Racemosa. Had the hardest time finding this one. No flowers this year, and foliage is ho-hum. I'll wait very impatiently for its first bloom.Seedling of Dawn Redwood. Transplanted last year from a nearby grove. Looks like it lost the leader this winter, but that won't hamper this vigorous beast. The nursery I bought this from called it a 'Shooting Star' Japanese Umbrella Pine, but I'm pretty sure it is the same as 'Sternshnuppe'. A bit pricey for this 2yr graft, but worth it. About to put out its new growth this year.

Aw... lucky you, but so sad too. Can you pick some of the leaves and freeze them in something like FoodSaver? I don't know how the blossoms would freeze, but you might try those too. Wouldn't they be beautiful swimming in a water jar with their hint of pineapple.

Joe I must have took a half dozen, it was one of those happy accidents, took all the blooming cuttings from pruning and flung them in a jug with no discernable attempt at arranging. Took much more care with the photo angles.
Joanne, you are too kind. Just hoping some of the blooms will stick to the bush until Saturday!
Blackcat, she is an early hybrid tea also listed as Golden Melody, hybridized by La Florida in 1934" a great but lost classic revived by Peter Beals." Or as our local snake oil merchant says "A flower of immense beauty and complex fragrance." Whereas I say she smells like honey or wonderful. Thank you.

I agree with Joe. Those blooms of your Belle Storey are just what I look for in a rose. Their color, form, nodding heads ... that is BEAUTIFUL, Luanne.

Redsox, I think a plonk is just a vase of flowers, mainly the kind you just cut a bunch and plonk them in the vase. My plonks aren't usually so successful...Thank you and thank you too, Krista.

LA -- well we've covered the blooms, and the bananas. I love your table -- is that a counter or an antique table? It looks old.

Sometimes the prettiest are the plonks.

The table is a John Boos solid maple table with a top meant to serve as a chopping block. I linseed oiled it and ordered a hutch with glass doors, center shelving and a bookcase top(meaning a solid slab of wood) from an unfinished furniture store so I was able to get it built precisely the length of the table which has a wide shelf beneath as well. I never could find what I wanted which is this and so was forced to adapt one piece--the large chopping block table--30 by 48 to fit the hutch which I chose from a book of options available from an east coast furniture factory. So it is a handmade piece of furniture constructed to serve as a counter in a kitchen of very little counterspace.It is well used but we bought it 20 years ago, brand new. The hutch was added 8 years ago when we moved into this house.
