LOL, just saw this thread was popping up again. Buford, I also FREQUENTLY use the timer feature when I'm out using drip irrigation, soaker hoses, etc....I've got so many all over the place that it's impractical right now to buy timers for every single one. That's a great idea about the zippered or velcro pockets. I will only wear blue jean pants in the garden, even in hot weather just because I'm always on my knees so pants and sometimes knee pads protect from sharp objects. And I don't want to contend with bug bites either which they prevent. I'm pretty handy though, I bet I could sow on my own zippered pocket if I couldn't find any cheapo jeans that had it already. Herboil, that's an interesting theory about the cell phone waves. I had heard that idea before several years ago when people were starting to realize the honey bee populations were dropping. I hadn't heard much about it lately.

Well I had seen ads in the back of magazines ad. table pads so I got mine from 800/737-3150 Berger's table Pad Factory out of Indianapolis,IN..Anyway they also have a website and when I placed my order either the print ad or internet site was cheaper and when I mentioned it, they gave me the cheaper price. Make sure you get the upgrade to the magnetic lock that joins the two halves and leaves together so they don't slip around. Also, at the time if you ordered a second pad for a buffet etc. you could get that for $40 extra so I did. They will send you a sample kit with colors etc and they have some manuf table bases in their data bases or just give them the measurements. I also opted to get the bags that are lined on the inside to put the leaves into and I'm glad I did that too. Very nice company to work with. I'm sure if you google them you can find them. Good luck and that sure gave me peace of mind when I got my new dining room table 2 yrs ago and I'm so glad I did,,don't have to worry about kids or husband now.

when I first came to the KT there was a story on another of the GW forums called Home Projects or something like that...It was HUSBANDS messing it up projects...it had gone on for years and was sooo darned funny...I sure wish someone would have kept it... Like You Moni...I love rereading the Bath episode and just recently I sought out the DOGS IN ELK...episode...fortunately its pretty easy to find on the web...

Been a while since I checked this forum but this thread reminded me of how I saved a marriage. In 2002 friends of mine moved from Illinois to Florida. The home they built in FL was ready but the home in IL was still on the market. SO they moved anyway hoping the IL house would sell quicly. Most of their posessions were moved but some furniture was left in the old house for staging. Months later the house sold and the husband flew back to IL to pack up and move what was left. The small U-Haul he rented was not quite big enough so he weeded out what he thought was unimportant (basement furniture, odd pieces in the garage, etc.). The day after he put those items out on the curb, I went by on trash day doing my weekly "Pearl diving" (my kids call it garbage picking). I took home a square game table about 20" square with a swivel top. Needed to be refinshed and I was in the process of packing for a move to Florida so I put it in my basement. That table made it to Florida in 2003 and then moved back to IL in 2005 when I moved back. Never did get it refinished. Anyway - was talking to the guy who threw it out ( we all remained friends thru the years and emailed each other regularly) and he was telling me that he and his wife were having marital problems since their move from IL. He said she had never forgiven him for throwing out her Aunt's table - it was the only thing she had to remember her favorite Aunt. Well guess who had that table? I had the extreme pleasure of telling him that I had it and he could pick it up on his next visit back to IL. You would have thought I pulled him from a burning building - which I guess is what he felt like. Needless to say he made the trip to IL in record time and table is safely back in his home. Neat story huh?
