Does that remind anyone backing out of the garage to be careful? :) And Don, it was no less than what I expected to find in any garden you touched, or really any project you set yourself to accomplish. Great detail in the use of white to define the hardscape. Love the shape of that arbor, breaking away from always straight lines one comes to expect with wood structures. Honestly, do you do all this work, including maintenance, yourself? Do you have hired help? How large is your garden anyway, to have all these well laid out non-cramped beds. Did you landscape it, because it is very professional looking. And, I've lost my way to THE LISTS....where are they now? I know some were moved to Pieterje's site, or so I think, and I cannot find it. Looking for the THEME GARDENS specifically. Need to submit a few more. Oh wow chad I have that one on order. I will go see what I can find on it. I didn't know that it was pbf also. Do you have it? Can you expound on "extremely variable"? I found a list somewhere (?) of variegated iris that I hadn't heard of before and wrote them down. I have the oddest hang up with wanting to get one of every one there is (bearded). lol Have you heard of 'Pink Marble'? I have been trying to find that one for a year now - to no avail. I found a seller that has it but they said it hadn't multiplied enough to sell any of it and they probably wouldn't sell it for at least another 3-4 years. :(

We (and everyone who has eaten it or gotten the recipe) loves it. It doesn't need icing, which I love because I don't like icing. It freezes well, and is good for lunches etc. Nice and moist. Chocolate Zucchini Cake 1/2 cup butter 1 3/4 cup sugar 2 eggs 1/2 cup sour milk (add 1 tsp vinegar) 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp baking soda 2 1/2 cups flour 4 tbsp cocoa 1/2 cup oil 2 cups grated zucchini (if using frozen, as I always do, squeeze it dry, to measure 2 cups) Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs well. Add sour milk and vanilla. Blend baking soda and powder with flour. Add cocoa to butter mixture; add flour. Combine oil and zucchini; add to batter. Mix and pour into a 9x9 (I use a 13-x9 if I use more zucchini.) Bake at 350 35-40 minutes.

Thanks everyone! Keswick- Thanks for the suggestions. I do have sedum Autumn Joy. Anemones would be great and fall blooming irises too. I will have to look for some of those. Donna, Daylilies have come along way in just a few years. There are some fantastic ones out there and they are soooo expensive! I will be waiting a few years for the price to come down and I am sure by then there will be even more beautiful ones. Popmama- my hydrangea is only about a foot tall but at least it is blooming! There is a large pot in the garden that has some easy wave petunias and a dragon wing begonia in it. I grew the petunias from seed and they are doing very well. I like to put pots in the garden to create some height. Dragonwings are my favorite plant to put in pots because just one plant fills up a large pots and looks great until frost.
