I just took these pictures today in my mom garden
Comments (19)Wow - that white one is stunning! Very spectacular. I also agree that the red and white striped one is xjohnsonii. Looks just like mine. It should be very fragrant. Chuck, the true johnsonii is valuable, mostly because they almost never set seed, so the only way to get them is by getting offsets. Your image is too blurry for me to see properly. But I'm sure you could find a great trade. The plant trade forum on gardenweb is great - just post what you have and what you are looking for. Or I'm sure you could sell on ebay. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures - I love seeing garden heirlooms!...See MoreJust a few pics from my garden today
Comments (28)Very short driveway, and that safety orange cone by the boulder? Does that remind anyone backing out of the garage to be careful? :) And Don, it was no less than what I expected to find in any garden you touched, or really any project you set yourself to accomplish. Great detail in the use of white to define the hardscape. Love the shape of that arbor, breaking away from always straight lines one comes to expect with wood structures. Honestly, do you do all this work, including maintenance, yourself? Do you have hired help? How large is your garden anyway, to have all these well laid out non-cramped beds. Did you landscape it, because it is very professional looking. And, I've lost my way to THE LISTS....where are they now? I know some were moved to Pieterje's site, or so I think, and I cannot find it. Looking for the THEME GARDENS specifically. Need to submit a few more. I now have the HOSTA FINDER to browse through, need to see your lists. Sorry if it is off topic a bit, but I was going to email you with this question, and here you post, so......excuse please? (but where is it)...See Moreinvitation! hosta garden tour - twin cities, mn today!
Comments (7)What a wonder-full evening! My thanks to you both for sharing your selves and your gardens so freely! What a joy to stroll through your gardens- To see MONSTERS and wee ones all so beautifully grown! To hear the stories of how some hosta came to reside in the gardens, and how some had departed, as well as several other stories shared, all told with your welcoming smiles. I wish that more folks here in the forum could have shared this evenings tour. It was well worth the trip even in the oh so VERY humid heat! 97 actual temp- but due to the (EXCESSIVE) humidity, the heat index says it feels like 110-116! And I bet some of you thought it didn't get hot in Minni-snow-da! Sheila, Jim, my thanks again to you both- Julie P.S. Melissa's garden is well worth the trip too! Amazing what she has accomplished in a few short MN garden seasons! Her gardens look better than many 10+ year old gardens, mine included! You are in for a treat next week!...See More10 Hosta photos from my garden today - how many can you name?
Comments (8)Wow Vanessa you are good!!!! #1,2,4 are correct. You narrowed down #5 to two and English Sunrise is it. #6, 7, 8, & 9 are correct - Why did you pick Minuteman over Patriot? #10 I'm not sure about. I had thought it was Inniswood but after looking at those on the Forum I figured I had it wrong. It could be one of the two you suggested. I'll post a couple of pictures from later in the season last year and tell me what you think....See MoreLinda's Garden z6 Utah
