pond vacuum without electricity

Hi, I apologize if this question has been addressed, after looking through old posts I still have a question. I have a 5foot by 8 foot approx. 500 gallon pond. About 2 feet deep. After raccoons have dumped several plants over I now have quite a bit of dirt as well as old plant material at the bottom. I am wondering how well those vacuums that work by suction of a garden hose work. I really don't want to spend a lot of money on one. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with them? Any recommendations? I don't have rocks on the bottom, it's liner. Thanks in advance.
