feed fish in intermittent warm weather?

Hi everyone, It's been awhile since I posted because I haven't had to pay much attention since the weather turned cold. I know not to feed the fish in winter, but what do you do when weather turns warm midwinter? Last week in the DFW area we had several nights in the 20s, but this week there will be 3-4 days in the 70's. Do I continue to not feed the fish, though they are noticably more active on the warmer days? The nights are still quite cold, though not freezing. Since I removed Pete the plycostomas a couple of months ago, the algae on the rocks has increased. Will that be enough to keep them fed on warm days? There are 2 large comets and 2 large shubunkins that are hunkered down and I'm not seeing them, but all the younger fish (2-4 in.) swim around in warmer weather.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sherry
