composting bermuda grass squares

I am trying to re-use/compost some of the areas I no longer want grass growing in (vs taking the highly compacted bermuda sod squares to the dump) ... has anyone tried the method below for turning sod squares into garden soil? Would bermuda seeds still be a big problem with this method or not? Is there anything else I can use besides dried blood which I would need to have shipped to me? I live in San Diego, CA if this matters.

From the Yahoo BrixTalk group:

"What I'd do if I were you is to take the sod squares up and dust the grass on them with dried blood (from non-MAD cows, of course) and then stack the sod squares grass-to-grass, dirt-to-dirt in to cubes at least 4x4ft and let them set over winter. I'd mow the turf tightly before I did this.

In the spring you should have a mound of what used to be called TURF LOAM, which is excellent for potting mix and for containers. You'd also be done with the grass."
