MTDM. Volcano Queen

I just found my MTDM. Issaku Nagata Volcano Queen spread across my porch chewed in to approximately 30 parts.

First, does anyone know if the plant is poisonous? I'm quite sure that my dog has eaten at least half of this very mature beautiful plant. He has that guilty look on his face so I am quite sure that he is the culprit.

Second, I found a small part that still has some roots left. I have repotted it in a much smaller pot, of course since there is not much left of the plant, and placed it outside where it will get bright inderect light until it shows any signs that it will pull through its trama.

Any suggestions on either of my problems, especially about the plant possibly being toxic? I can replace the plant but not the dog.

The plant apparently is not toxic as my dog is still alive although he has seemed sedated all day.

Does anyone have any advice on how I should treat the remainder of the plant to help it along?

I'd be very surprised if any orchid is toxic, for example, the Australian natives used various orchids in their diet.

The forum is very slow today, not many posts at all. The treatment you gave your
plant sounds good and hopefully it will recover. Volcano Queen is the least important part of the plant name .....correct setout is Mtdm. Issaku Nagata 'Volcano Queen' The volcano queen bit is j similar to John where the surname is SMITH .

Shhhh, Don, say that softly so they won't hear and move in with their extended families. I'm sure their range is not official, but being a bit too far south is fine with me. I think they are found in Birmingham, about 200 miles north of here. I'll ask the nursery lady up there next time I call her (to order Alabama Sunrise). I have Alabama Gold, Alabama Bowl, and simply must have the third one. Seems once upon a time there was a hosta hybridizer in north Alabama. Back in the "old days."

Thanks for the advice arthurm, I've had this plant for a long time and would hate to lose it. I know that I can replace it but this paticular plant has alot of sentimental value.
