Hi Bryon, I just had to jump in. I have one of those plants. I read that it was in your family office and wasn't taken very good care of. I bought two different plants from Home Depot, they each had three plants in the pot. I combined them into one pot. I have had the plant for 2 years and was doing very well. Then in the past 6-7 months I notice it is dropping the lower leaves and sometimes the entire branch comes off right at the stalk. I don't know what might be causing this, I haven't moved it changed any of the habits, now it stands w/ 5 leaves on the very top and the lowest ones are getting ready to drop. I was wondering if you could lend some help, I have had these plants before and they were always carefree and good growers for me. Thanks for the help if you can.

Hi toni!!!! I think you are right! I have been noticing the leaves looking limp on the cordy, and it never occured to me to check for mites!!!! I thought they were like that because of a transplant 2 weeks ago..Shoot, I will look tommorrow..Thankyou All of the plants were aquired all over the place through the years....Some at Logees, and some at Mahonies, even some at Home Depot..Yup. Home Depot..lol. Of course the ones that I wanted to save...;lol My last visit to Logees aquired me a couple of camellia plants and a blood orange about 5 inches high and already in bloom..Also meeting a couple of nice garden forum members.. Wish you could see this place..I owe you some pics and need to ask you for a few suggestions later.. Thankyou for you compliment, it means alot coming from you..:-) Hugs, Mike

Complex Hybrid of Aglaonema, containing A. rotundum as a parent for the red coloration. can't pin point the cultivar, there are so many (just google red aglaonema). Very popular in south east asia. it needs hot, humid tropical condition, good drainage, and dappled sun condition. other wise they stop growing, loose their leaves, and rot, but if you can provide tropical like condition, (don't give up, they can be grown even from cutting with no root, so it is not a lost case yet). also beware of nematodes that will cause root problems (I am sure your plant also have root problem). I will change soils and give tropical condition treatment.
