Thanks for your reply jdo... Because you menioned dollar weed, I went onto the Clemson U website and discovered that the weed we have is dichondra. Dollar weed is very similar, but after comparing stems, leaves, etc, we determined it is dichondra. Now that we know what it is, we are wondering if anyone has ever tried to eradicate dichondra from their lawns. It looks like we may have to use Roundup, and if that is the case, it will destroy the lawn too. But if that is the only recourse, then that's what we'll do. Anybody ever had this problem? Thanks.

Its pretty bad if I can't identify a picture of myself. It looks like me, but it could be one of my family members... the picture is a bit dark and shaded.

Thanks, everyone! I asked her if she planted a hydrangea last year. She said she has no idea, but she guesses whatever it was, she had to get it in the ground before it froze, because it's planted in an area she usually reserves for herbs. She has a 2-year-old, so I can't say I wonder about her poor memory =) Hell, I've my mukdenia for about 5 years now, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what it was for the first week after it started coming up. Ken...we're in the Minnesota River valley, and the soil is pure gardening gold here.

Hmmm.... I suppose that’s possible, although I know for certain I wouldn't have knowingly planted that and there are no wild plantings around that it could have come from. I couldn't find a good enough picture of leaves and stems to positively ID. My plant appears to be a clumper atm, but if it starts to run I’ll give loosestrife a good hard look. And then remove it ASAP. Haha :) thanks.
