Where locally might I find Potassium bicarbonate?

I don't feel like ordering the stuff online if I don't have to, so what type of retailer might I search for around town?

I think I read brewers suppliers might have it? Any other places? And does it matter how it's sold? I see on google that dietary supplement results pop up. Is there a special kind to make fungicide?

Since Cornells research indicated that Potassium Bicarbonate was a bit better than Sodium Bicarbonate some garden suppliers have been putitng it out there packaged for gardeners, but you still have to search for it since the stores selling garden suppliies are not always going to stock a new item unless there appears to be a large demand. I have not seen any on the shelves of the local stores but then I do not spend much time in those aisles because there are things there that will induce an asthma attack in me.

Pretty darn well on the zukes, cukes and squash. I've only had to pull just a couple leaves from the squash and zukes and they're the oldest leaves that are tuckered anyhow The cantaloupes are surviving but because I sprayed that vinegar solution, I've had to trim a lot of leaves. And the PM seems a bit more stubborn on the melons. I imagine if the monsoonal crap hadn't moved in so early this year and I had begun the preventative sprays earlier, that they would be fine now. My understanding is that ammonium sulfate has an immediate and powerful effect on soil pH, so it should be used with caution around blueberries. Soil sulfur, aka agricultural sulfur, has to be metabolized by soil bacteria before it has any effect on soil pH, and this can take several months. For this reason, I prefer using agricultural sulfur on our blueberry shrubs. We have several shrubs that indicate soil pH around 3.8, but the shrubs appear robust and healthy, so I am going to let the pH rise naturally next year, over time. My irrigation water has pH around 7.6, and I apply between 20 and 40 gallons of water to each shrub over the growing season. We had a good season in 2012, despite the drought conditions here. I did a lot of hand watering over the spring, summer, and fall.

I know for sure that Jung's in Madison has William Baffin every year. I'm not sure about Milwaukee places. There is a list of nurseries on the Wisconsin forum and one of those might have it. Even nurseries that don't normally have roses often have the hardier climbing roses like this one in their shrub section. You don't need to worry about the soil. Go ahead and plant William in the same spot and it will be fine. I have John Cabot which is closely related and that's the one rose that I never have to worry about blackspot or winterkill. If you're getting a lot of powdery mildew though then you might want to be sure it is getting enough sun there and enough air circulation. Annie's Annuals does grow other species of Strobilanthes, but not this one. As this needs greenhouse conditions to have good sized plants or even any growth this time of year, they do tend to be more plentiful later in the season. If you are willing to drive up to the SF Flower Market, you can probably find this year round at some of the growers stalls. You can also get it mail order from places out of Florida, back east like Logees or Kartuz Greenhouses down in Vista, Ca. but the plants will be pretty small. Berkeley Hort Nursery or East Bay Nursery could probably special order these if you had to have them earlier than late April/early May.

Have you tried your local health food store? Or places that sell vitamins and supplements? Potassium bicarbonate is used as a supplement for both potassium deficiencies as well as to counter high blood pressure and a number of other health issues.

Buying it in bulk from Amazon is a whole lot cheaper than how it is sold as a vitamin supplement.......just saying :-)

Yeah... I wouldn't dare even try to search at a pharmacy or health food store because of the small packs that I'm sure to find.

I just thought maybe some of you might know some UNordinary places to look for it by the lb.

Might've found a great source. Hopefully, it's in a powder form which, I assume, is the form in which I want.

Contqcted a wine and cheese supply store--- $6/lb. Nice savings over the $17 plus shipping from Amazon.
