Garden massacre

My poor Purple Cherokee tomato plant has been massacred by six types of bugs! I've been on the attack for the army worms and the cutworms. Today it was more of those two, plus some inchworms, a big brown caterpillar and stink bugs and a big brown grasshopper. I cut off all damaged leaves and fruits. Not much left to the poor thing. Glad I never suckered it. It might survive. Any pre-emergent type spray for these bugs? Or a weekly type spray? I used to just hand pick. My Wild Fred and Sun Gold are doing pretty good and a very hefty unknown grape or possible Roma is doing awesome in the same 6 foot bed. Why would they pick the Cherokee to attack? It was very healthy too.
