Comments (12)Sue what are you trying to do to me! First I thought you were an enabler.... that was cute, now it's looking more like you're a pusher! I'm sitting here thinking yeah, I could use another "hit" of bulbs.... just a quick hit, it'll be the last one of the season.... the wife will never have to know. I think I have a problem... no I don't....Arrrgh! I hope I don't offend anyone with that, if so I'm sorry. It's ment to be in humor but actually does describe what I'm thinking. Alina you're not helping with your links. You're just getting me into more trouble! lol. I think they are all crocus (lucky for me, I would have ordered them on the spot if they were colchicums) Actually one of them is not a crocus. The yellow ones are sternbergias and I don't think they're as hardy as Van B says they are. I just looked on B&Becky's and they say 6 is the limit of their hardiness. I used to see them growing wild down in Texas and thought they were nice.... actually I think I did see them once in NY though. Maybe they are a little hardier..... Hmmm Sue. You really are tempting me. I better think about it until it's too late and I don't have to make a decision. that will be my plan. Of course on the up side, the one that I have is the one that is sold out. I have the Sativus and it bloomed back in late October. It's got leaves now and will be that way until later next spring.... then it will be perfect for digging and mailing! hmmmm. how much could a split order possibly amount to? hmmmmm.........See Moreis it dead?
Comments (6)Ive never asked a question seil or someone couldnt answer, thats why i come here to learn. I did keep trimming further and further but at a point i decided it was way more than i wanted and just stopped. Im no good with feeling positive about a cane being old or dead. The pith is white but the cambium is tan, not green.. or where there is green under the bark, it looks very dry. So i stopped cutting. I hope im not stuck with only those 4 new gangly canes from last summer...id never be able to train it back to its former glory. Fingers crossed in upstate :) thanks to all....See MoreCan't flip a pillow-top mattress?
Comments (70)We replaced our mattress about a year ago. We found a local manufacturer (Texas Mattress Makers) in my search for a latex mattress. They had three different latex mattresses, but none of them were like my son's, so we looked around and would up with one that was very much like the one we would have gotten from a major store, made by one of the major mattress names. The overall construction was almost identical, but they used a better coil system that would give better support and longer life. The price was about the same as the major brand -- when it was on sale for half price and had a promotion going on top of that. Made a believer out of me. Wanted to add that when you go to the source, they really know what is inside a mattress (at this place, the folks selling you a mattress on Saturday may be making that mattress on Monday or Tuesday) and can help you select what you need and they can really customize a mattress. We wound up buying one they stock, but we talked about how they customize the padding inside when needed. They can make a half and half so that the guy gets his firmer mattress and the woman gets something that supports her curves. They have cut out segments of the foam and changed to a firmer or softer when someone has an old injury or a hip or shoulder problem. Antique beds, custom sizes, custom support systems or flippable mattresses -- the local maker is worth looking into....See MoreToday's Trivia Quiz
