It would help if y'all started a new thread for each new query. Include a picture (preferably showing the whole plant, a close up of leaves, and flowers if any), and tell us how big it is and where you found the plant. Knowing whether it's in Florida or Michigan can help ID a plant. Mary, I would say posting your three plants in one thread works, but piggybacking on another thread gets confusing, especially since others have done the same here. Also, there's a Name That Plant forum here; the people who hang out there are friendly and knowledgeable about a wide variety of plants. ----------------------- Now that I got that off my chest, the first one Mary posted looks like a carrot relative--maybe fennel or queen ann's lace. #2 might be a hosta relative. I think #3 will have yellow flowers, but I don't know the name. Maybe an artemissia relative?

For three days now, I have been seeing a rather large spider crawling across the top shelf of my computer desk. I haven't tried to catch it to put it outside, because grabbing among all the stuff on the shelf would result in a disaster. It must be difficult to go through life fearful of bugs, spiders, snakes, etc. I don't have that fear, in fact for the most part I find them fascinating, and in the case of spiders, when practical, adopt a live and let live attitude. My mother was the same, as is my sister and my children. But in my husbands family, they all are more fearful. So I am wondering if a persons feelings about such things are inherited or perhaps learned.

I've never heard of this, but wow-thats a lot of Coke! If I were to do it, I'd soak in a bucket instead. Dawn or a shampoo for oily hair rubbed into the spot should work. To deodorize clothes you can add 1/2 cup of original Pine Sol to the wash. It even says so on the bottle.

Talking about hoses, I have given up on garden hose altogether and have started to make my own. About 13 years ago I bought a house that the last owner gifted me a hose that he made for his rv made from automotive heater hose. He told me it was about 15 years old at that time ( I still have it) I found myself going through garden hoses every year are 2 if it was a good one and the price for a good hose is not cheap. So a couple of years ago after going through 3 hoses in 2 years for my front yard at this house I decided to see how much it would cost if I made one like the other one. Turns out not much more than a good hose from home depot so I made 1. Bought the hose by the foot from a local automotive parts store and ends brass ends from ace and put it together. Now I have a hose that will last 20+ years and the 1 given to me is still going strong and it is about 28 years old but they do kink but they don't break and they can take the Florida heat and not dry rot and take being under pressure. Problem solved with the hoses.
