Are pressure treated raised beds safe for growing veggies?

I am considering building raised garden beds for growing vegetables out of pressure treated wood (probably MCQ). I'm aware that the more dangerous CCA hasn't been in residential use for almost 10 years, and that the newer compounds used for treating lumber (ACQ, MCQ, CA-B, etc.) are generally considered safer. The question is: are they really safe enough?

When trying to research the topic online, I've read mostly anecdotal evidence and uninformed biased opinions (biased both ways). I would like to see some actual scientific studies that examined the safety issue, but I haven't found any. Can anyone here point to studies on the subject, and/or offer scientifically informed opinions?

Thanks in advance,
Ben
