Rush endorses 'Single Payer' government run health care.

The guru of conservative thinking said the other day that if Obama's health care reform comes to pass, he'll go for medical care to Costa Rica, which of course has single payer, government run health care.

If I found a magic lamp and the genie gave me only one wish, it would be that in 2012 Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin would team up for the GOP ticket. What a feast for the mind that would be. SNL would go out of business, no need for them after watching these 2 clowns bounce of the walls all day long.

ne 8grandma, Thanks for the link, interesting, but I know in 1994 or 5 someone backed into our 55 chevy and DH located genuine parts, door and finder, and after speaking to the State Farm adjuster we purchased them from different places and State Farm reimbursed us no problem. Probably because after market parts were not available DH works for the biggest GM dealer in town and they have the State Farm contract for body work and he says it's never been an issue. They have always used genuine parts for the 20 plus years he has worked there. Maybe it was more an issue with foreign cars. The whole state of affairs with any kind of insurance is in a mess. Our health premiums doubled when Kaiser contracted with the state to cover medical patients. I guess someone had to pick up the tab. Our home owners got revamped, and not in our favor, after the Oakland fires in the 90s. And even after that people still did not understand why they didn't have enough coverage when they have been paying for the same policy for years. Our agent is also a personal friend and I ask her who has the responsibility. The insurance company to tell you that building cost have triples, especially after Katrina, or is it the policy holders responsibility to keep track of anything that would effect the replacement cost. She couldn't answer it. She said if the company kept up with costs policy's would be in a constant state of change. I answered back that as a policy holder I expected she would have my best interest in mind and inform me when I should upgrade. She came back with the stock answer. Read your policy and see if its what you need. I said send me a list of everything I could be covered for that I don't currently have. Boy was I surprised. I thought we had the best coverage going. When I added several things I ask why didn't I know about any of these and she said I should have ask! How can you ask for something if you don't know about it? If we had a total loss and had to rebuild why wouldn't I have foundation removal when it only cost penny's compared to what it would cost if I had to pay out of pocket. But I had to ask. It is not part of the standard home owners policy. And who can read policy's? The IRS forms are easier to figure out than an insurance policy. I used to be involved with employee benefits and I usually understand insurance but I have read quite a lot of information on LTC and it makes no since. All it seems to want to tell you is what is not covered. I would like to have this coverage. I figure we could afford it but it just seems that if you don't jump through the right hoops at the right place and time you wouldn't be covered. I hope someone here can figure out if there is a LTC policy that is worth paying for. Who would have thought that insurance would be such a big issue when planning for retirement. Insurance is our biggest monthly expense now and I don't see it getting any lower. I jokingly told my dad that he pays less for medicare and his AARP supplement than we do for our medical coverage but he faxed me a news article on how they are now going to be charging more for medicare depending on your income. His will be going up quite a bit and boy is he not happy. I just keep reminding him how lucky he is that he is in a position to pay it. Who is kidding who! I am lucky he is in a position to pay it.

Well let's see. My parents and others I know have been lied to. Their insurance that they liked DID change. Now they have to pay more. Thanks Obama! rooseveltl : Pay me share??? I've paid 500/month for healthcare for the last 5 years. I never get sick (organic only- no sugar, no meat,no precessed food, plenty of exercise and supplements). I think that qualifies for paying my share. F that! Socialized healthcare doesn't work. Just ask those in Canada how they like waiting months to see a specialist. AND, it's not he same as an automobile insurance - where you risk killing someone. I take care of myself and shouldn't have to be forced to have insurance: OBAMA STAY OFF MY BODY! I think I'm going opt out of my insurance and just pay the fee, way cheaper than the 500/month, especially since I don't use it. I'm tired of being forced to pay for others. Enough is enough. Dedtired...I too had to pay the same the year before Medicare. When on Cobra it is required that the HI take you and cannot deny due to pre-existing conditions. Was with mine for 5 years, but they just kept kicking up the premiums to the last year at 759 a mo. At 65 I found a supplement plan for $90 a month, they pay 100% of what is left after Medicare regardless of the need. Signed for 3 years option to keep the monthly cost. Every year after the 3 it goes up now about 20%, but the coverage remains the same. This year could be the last to afford them. No other insurance will cover me if I lose this. So I'll be in the same situation as many of you. A broker told me that with specific medications and/or condition, a company adds about $50 per item to the monthly cost...if they will even accept you. Health Insurance is for the wealthy or healthy. I'm with all of you, what to do without insurance and am floored by the many posting here without. I know what my medical costs will be for a year and weigh that in to the insurance cost to me...for now. Have mentioned more than once to others that if my IQ was even 1 level down, would never figure any of this out. And the older we get the worse it is to know what to do. Medicare changes are two thick books and one had best know what is and isn't. They have taken away 2/3 of the approved medications. When I asked the pharmacy about one of mine, he said it was due to too many falls from the elderly using it. Jeesh, I use it to keep from falling. We are all in trouble health wise, growing older with all the new research to resolve so many conditions isn't going to do any of us any good. Health insurance will be too costly to utilize great advances. Admission I do not understand what is being created for health coverage by the gov. It eludes me with crazy details. OT. Our state now has a law that if you are stopped for anything when driving or get in an accident and taking a medication that cautions driving while using it, they can charge you with a DUI. I'm waiting for a DUI law because of my age.

I'm waiting until April 1st if I decide to send it in at all. I have to be sure that I am not dead by then. Also I will have to check the attic to see if Uncle Fester is still up there. Cousin It may be under the house. Some illegal aliens may be hiding out in the tool shed. I also have to make sure I read the the questions correctly. Apparently the first one is so complicated that they have to remind you about it in question 2 and again in question 10. (Oh if I only had a brain) LOL After all the care the hired hands too to write the questions I would hate to screw up the count. Redundant questions, redundant mailing and a redundant government. ACK

I'll bite.

One of my favorite TV shows is "Supernatural". If you haven't seen it, the story is kind of a rip-off of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", but in this case we have two brothers, traveling around, fighting demons and ghosts and all those kind of critters. It's really a lot of fun.

Well..

In one recent episode, the two brothers find themselves transported to the future - the year 2012 to be exact. A portal to hell has opened and the world is being destroyed by all sorts of nasty demons and the like. Civilization is pretty much toast, everyone is pretty much dead. There's a comment made from one of the characters about the current president - President Palin.

(I'm also assuming in this world of the future, there probably isn't a whole lot of health care going on for anyone no matter what private plan you have since you'll remember civilization is toast and everyone is being eaten or something.)

Now I'm not saying a portal to hell WILL open if by some chance Palin accomplishes the impossible. At the very worst we might have a stairway to hell or a moderate capacity elevator to hell, but the chances of that happening are pretty slim too - maybe 50/50.

In any case, it's something to think about.

Certain phrases just give me an ice cold chill. I remember when George Wallace was running with Curtis LeMay as his VP.

I believe it was Hubert Humphrey who suggested : Just say 'President Wallace, President LeMay'. 'President Palin' ranks right up there. If that does not give you a deadly chill, you are probably dead.

As Tina Fey said, "If they (Palin + running mate) win, I'm moving-----to a different planet."

First, letÂs make no mistake about the fact that Limbaugh is an entertainer, not a political leader.
Second, Palin is not an entertainer.

I'm glad you added that last blip. Not a blurb but at best a blip. Shows how much you give credit to the musings of one of the great minds of the 20th century.

A choice between Nixon and Humphrey, good question. We know what Tricky Dick did, don't know what Hubert would have done had he been in the White house. I give a lot more credit to Nixon than you may think.

Had it not been for Kennedy's stubbornness wanting 'All or Nothing' we might have had 'Health Care Reform' during the Nixon administration.

Would Hubert have gone 'Balls to the Walls' to save Israel which, to his credit, Nixon did.

Would Humphrey successfully reaproached with China?

I give Nixon a lot of credit on his foreign policy achievements and he was definitely a moderate middle of the roader on domestic policy when he could bother to pay attention to domestic problems. I have no problem with Nixon, Goldwater and the conservatives of that era. I have a problem with the christianized radicalism that Sarah Palin represents. Palin is a very courageous and savvy individual who is doing a great job of selling herself. In time she will be seasoned and knowledgeable. The sound of 'President Palin' still gives me a chill.

I know Rush is a very successful entertainer. I listen to him occasionally when I'm driving and I'm bored. Some times what comes out of him and his Ditto Heads, who take him very seriously, is nothing short of hilarious.

I don't listen to Rush as much as I did 20+ yrs ago. The entertainment quantity has dramatically decreased through the years. Oh, how I miss all of Rush's "updates" !

For good, ol'-fashioned political commentary, I find that Michael Savage provides me with intellectual exercise. I don't agree with everything that Savage utters--which is good. It's difficult to remain neutral while listening!

Keep your ears tuned for Jeff Kuhner, a relative new-comer to the political commentators on AM Radio. He's only available through WTNT in DC at the moment. Jeff is blessed with a sharp intellect. If you're really interested, Jeff can be heard through the internet. He also writes for the Washington Times.

I'd look out for him!!!!!!!!!!. The rise of the Shock Jock. We have them here too. Strange that they are mostly right wing....the two most popular here...the radio one and the blogger one certainly are to the right.

One thing i love about all this stuff is the use of labels, such as black for Obama.
"Socialist" which many Americans would apply to the Government here when Centre Left might be the correct term.

Anyway, to use your terminology Nick. Most Americans wouldn't recognise a Socialist if it bit them on the bum.
