what to add to apples, cherry, raspberry, grapes ...

well, it's tree ordering time again.

Planning on retiring in 5 years or so; hope to hobby farm and make some (modest) income. also like a big variety of growing things.

not really a green thumb, only thing I've had unqualified success with are raspberries.

8 years ago planted several fruit trees (apple, cherry, and plum) mostly for esthetics. fruit from those is what got me interested in this whole gardening/fruit thing. lots of bugs this year for the 1st time in my apple trees. I know I need to develop some real expertise in pest management.

planted 50 apple trees 2 years ago (5 varieties selected for cold hardiness and early to late ripening date) plus 10 more this spring. all seem to be doing well.

also 50 cherry trees this spring. jury's out till next spring.

also have nice raspberry patch and some struggling grapes.

looking for suggestions on what to add.

have 20 acres rolling land, well drained, mostly sandy soil. tested well for fruit trees. both southern and eastern exposures available.

suggestions welcome.
